About me

Whether you are coming to therapy with a specific concern, or need a confidential space to explore whatever is on your mind, I am here to support you. I see psychotherapy as a collaborative endeavour, in which I offer a safe, non-judgemental space for you to talk through your thoughts and feelings, explore your emotions and create a deeper understanding of yourself and the life you wish to lead.

I integrate a number of theories and ways of working but tailor my approach to your individual needs. Therapy is not about providing advice, but it can be helpful to think about your early life and relationships, as well as past experiences, and to reflect on how they may have shaped your understanding of yourself, other people and the world in which you live.

Most importantly I believe that everyone has the capacity to find their own answers and, in our work together, I aim to help you understand your choices, consider new perspectives, reach your own decisions and ultimately to empower you to make appropriate changes as you wish.

I work with adults (over 18) on an individual basis, both face-to-face and online via Zoom. I offer both short-term (minimum of 6 sessions) and long-term therapy, either open-ended or for a mutually agreed number of sessions.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a UKCP registered Integrative Psychotherapist and a Registered Member of the BACP.

After two decades in the arts and entertainment industry, then advertising and commercial post-production, my passion for supporting individuals in realising their potential led me to re-train as an Integrative Psychotherapist. I have since worked in the third sector and in higher education settings, and more recently in private practice.

Postgraduate Certificate in Integrative Psychotherapy - Regent's University, London

MA in Psychotherapy & Counselling (Distinction) - Regent's University, London

Foundation Certificate in Counselling Skills - WPF Therapy

I have also undertaken a variety of additional trainings aligned with my integrative approach, including mindfulness, bereavement and working with trauma.

To support my ethical practice and as part of my continuing professional development, I am in regular supervision.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
