About me
Ready to talk about it?
Over the years I’ve worked with hundreds of people, and their feedback has shaped the way I practice. Many clients come to me because they want a safe, professional space outside their circle of family and friends ....somewhere they can speak openly and feel truly heard.
Clients often tell me that our sessions helped them to:
- understand themselves and their patterns of behaviour
- develop new ways of thinking
- find healthier coping strategies
- feel more confident
- take better care of themselves
- improve their relationships
Counselling is, at its heart, a conversation that is led by you. Together we focus on the issues that matter most to you. My role is to draw on my training and experience to help you make connections, gain insight, and feel empowered to make meaningful changes.
People come to therapy for many reasons.
Some arrive feeling overwhelmed, having tried everything they can think of.
Others use the sessions as a creative space to explore thoughts, emotions, or difficult decisions. Some find themselves stuck in past experiences that they can’t quite let go of.
Wherever you are starting from, I’m wondering what brings you here today and whether we might explore it together.
Training, qualifications & experience
I qualified in 2012 and since then have worked in a wide range of settings: schools, businesses, charities, and NHS-funded services. Over the last eight years, I held a senior role within a charity, supporting and developing a large team of therapists and ensuring high-quality, ethical practice.
Alongside my counselling and psychotherapy work, I provide clinical supervision and work with Leeds and York universities to support trainee counsellors. This keeps me engaged with current research, training, and best practice all of which feeds directly into my 1:1 work. I have additional specialist training in working with young people and have experience as a school counsellor.
This breadth of experience allows me to draw on a wide range of therapeutic approaches and resources to tailor sessions to each individual.
I also meet regularly with my own supervisor and with peer groups of other therapists. These reflective spaces deepen my perspective and strengthen my practice, while always protecting your confidentiality.
I offer a calm, confidential space where you can talk freely and begin to move forward. If you're ready to explore what’s going on for you, I’d be glad to support you.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
