Supervision details
My supervision practice is now at capacity so I am not currently taking on new supervisees. March 2025
I work from Wetherby and have good local knowledge of services available to support client mental health as well as training routes and networks for counselling professionals. It is important to me to, where possible, have a blend of meeting supervisees in person, as well as offering online sessions. For qualified practitioners I offer 1.5 hours per month supervision.
I am an integrative practitioner and work from a person-centered base, I use the Proctor & Inskipp model for supervision. I aim to create a collaborative, reflective space where supervisees feel supported in their clinical work and professional growth—a space to safely explore dilemmas, deepen self-awareness, and bring into focus the thoughts and feelings that may sit at the edge of awareness.
I have extensive experience of working with adult clients with anxiety, depression and people who are struggling due to adverse life events. Following my years of experience as clinical lead I am very familiar with the organisational aspects of our work, including safeguarding, recording keeping and ethical decision making.
I have also worked for 12 years+ with adolescents, so I have significant insight into the specialism presented by this work.
I offer supervision to qualified practitioners and to Leeds Beckett and York St John students. I am unable to meet the needs of students from other courses.
I usually offer supervision appointments on Mondays or Thursdays
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
