About me

Finding a therapist that gets you can be challenging. I seek avenues that can grow our connection, and together we will navigate what feels safe to share. I honour the courage and bravery it can take to open up to someone about our insecurities, worries, shame and difficult histories.

I understand that, in order to feel safe, we need to know that we are understood, respected and held in deep care by another. I bring my whole self when I work with someone, and together, we navigate what it means for you to live in your body, mind and heart. I will learn from you, listen to what is said, and witness what is unsaid, so that I may hope to support you in the unique way that you need. I am trained to work ethically and professionally, and witness how helpful professional boundaries can be to create safety to talk about difficult things. Exploring personal themes in the context of a professional relationship can help ground you, reframe and shed a different light on problems. With a heart centred and intuitive approach, I can offer an emotionally intelligent and professional reflection of your inner world, so that you may see yourself more clearly and with more compassion.

By working with me, we can explore your capacity to experience increased feelings of self worth, developing self compassion and self acceptance, looking within to your different parts, integrating a fractured self into a whole, developing autonomy and personal choice, deconditioning from oppressive systems, using somatic connection and other tools to manage challenging emotions or rejected parts of self. These skills can help with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, dysregulation, loneliness, anger, grief and loss, fear and navigating a complex world.

I enjoy working with a wide variety of client groups.  A twenty minute discovery call can help you decide if I am the counsellor for you on this stage of your life path.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
