About me

“I understand that life can sometimes feel heavy, confusing, or emotionally exhausting. You may find yourself overthinking, struggling with confidence, feeling disconnected in relationships, or carrying the impact of difficult past experiences. Therapy offers a confidential, supportive space where you don’t have to manage everything alone.”

I’m Sarah Davis, a BACP-registered integrative counsellor providing warm, compassionate, trauma-informed counselling for adults online and in person. I support clients experiencing anxiety, overwhelm, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, grief, trauma, emotional abuse, domestic abuse, sexual violence, and life transitions.

My approach is relational, calming, and tailored to your individual needs. I work gently and collaboratively, helping you explore emotions, patterns, relationships, and experiences at a pace that feels safe for you. I believe feeling truly heard and accepted can be an important part of healing and personal growth.

Alongside private practice, I have experience supporting survivors of domestic abuse, sexual violence, and relationship harm within a specialist charity setting. This has shaped my trauma-informed way of working, with particular awareness around emotional safety, boundaries, nervous system overwhelm, shame, and the lasting effects of difficult relationships.

Clients often come to me when they are:

Feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or emotionally drained.
Struggling with low self-worth or self-criticism.
Processing trauma or difficult childhood experiences.
Navigating unhealthy or abusive relationships.
Experiencing grief, loss, or major life changes.
Feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsure of themselves.
Wanting a calmer, more compassionate relationship with themselves.
I offer a calm, non-judgemental space where you can explore whatever is going on for you with honesty and support.

I provide a free 20-minute introductory consultation so you can ask questions, talk about what brings you to counselling, and see whether working together feels right for you.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Experience

I bring professional experience as a caseworker for a charity, where I supported victims of crime, including adults, children, and young people affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence. Through this work, I developed extensive experience supporting people with a wide range of needs, including those who are neurodiverse, and built skills in safety planning, trauma-informed practice, and compassionate, non-judgemental support
