About me

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming—whether through anxiety, depression, health concerns, grief and loss, or the impact of events beyond our control. You may be facing relationship difficulties, carrying trauma, or questioning aspects of your identity. At times like these, it can be hard to see the path ahead, and you may feel stuck or uncertain about how to move forward.

Reaching out can feel daunting, particularly when you're not sure where to begin. As a qualified and experienced counsellor, I'm here to make that first step as easy and comfortable as possible.

I offer an Integrative practice, at the centre of which is the therapeutic relationship, a space where you can feel safe, seen, and supported to explore whatever is arising for you. I offer a warm, collaborative presence, meeting you with openness, curiosity, and respect. My aim is to support you in making sense of your experiences, discovering your inner resources, and finding a way forward that feels authentic and meaningful to you.

The Benefits of Counselling
Counselling provides a safe and supportive space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgement. At its heart is the healing power of the therapeutic relationship—being truly heard and understood can foster trust, insight, and emotional growth. Counselling can help reduce anxiety and depression, process grief and loss, navigate life transitions, and build resilience in the face of challenges beyond your control. Through this connection, you can gain clarity, develop new ways of coping, and nurture personal growth, creating a greater sense of wellbeing and balance.

Training, qualifications & experience

About Me

Alongside my counselling practice I work as a senior mental health practitioner at The Harmony Centre in Bridport, supporting people through moments of distress and uncertainty.
This experience supporting people in crisis helps me be present and steady, whether you’re dealing with something urgent or working through longer-term challenges.

My training in the field is extensive and includes:
Level 3 Adult Safeguarding
ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training)
Dragonfly domestic abuse awareness and support

Working with the Body

My work as a Pilates teacher has taught me how deeply our bodies carry stress and trauma.
I integrate this understanding into my counselling practice, focussing on how gentle attention to the sensations we feel can enable us to respond to and let go of long term tension and pain.

Along side my Level 4 in Pilates, I have trained in Body Listening and Body Psychotherapy.

Working in Nature

For ten years I worked in the field of Forest School and nature connection, supporting people of all ages to access and experience the healing and health-giving potential of time spent in the natural world.
Over this period I trained extensively in eco-therapy and nature-based practices, including Forest Bathing and Mindfulness In Nature.

I believe the natural environment can provide a unique form of support, enabling us to shift our perspective. Using Nature as a mirror for our inner life can create a contemplative space for self-discovery,

I offer walk-and-talk therapy in and around the West Dorset area, be it woodland or coastal. We are lucky to have so much beauty on our doorstep. This can offer a great opportunity to attend to your physical as well as mental health.

Bereavement and Loss

I have undertaken specialist training with The Cruse Bereavement Charity to deepen my ability to support those navigating grief and loss.

In addition, I have trained in circle practices and group facilitation, and draw on these skills to facilitate a monthly bereavement group at the Harmony Centre in Bridport which meets on the first Thursday of the month in Bridport.

Beginning Therapy

Getting in touch with a counsellor can feel like a big step, especially if you’re not sure what you want to say or where to start. Many people feel nervous about making that first contact — that’s completely understandable.

I offer a free 20-minute telephone conversation so we can talk things through before you decide anything. You can share a little about what’s been going on for you, ask any questions you have, and get a sense of how I work.

There’s no charge and no obligation. It’s simply a chance to see whether working together feels like a good fit. You don’t need to prepare or have the “right words” — just come as you are.

Who I work with

I work with adults (16 plus) experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including:

Bereavement and loss
Illness, complex or life-limiting diagnoses
Family breakdown, divorce, and difficult family relationships
Midlife transitions and questions about direction or identity
Burnout and feeling overwhelmed
Low self-worth, self-doubt, or feeling not good enough
Feeling stuck, disconnected from yourself, or unsure about the next stage of life
A sense that something needs to change, but not knowing what
The impact of childhood trauma
Neurodiversity-related challenges
Gender and Identity issues

You don’t need to fit neatly into one of these categories. If something in your life isn’t sitting right, you’re welcome to get in touch.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
