About me
I’m Sarah, I offer telephone and online counselling to adults of all ages. Contact me for a free, no obligation 20 minute initial consultation.
I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I provide a calm, safe space for you to speak openly about anything that feels relevant to you, and we work at a pace that feels comfortable to you. I work flexibly and offer appointments weekly, fortnightly or monthly. Counselling with me can be short-term, long-term or open ended to suit your needs.
I work with people who access counselling for a variety of different reasons. Life can sometimes feel overwhelming and counselling can be a useful space to process difficult thoughts and feelings. Counselling can help you to adjust to changes in your life, and to build resilience. My down to earth, non-judgmental approach will create an environment where you feel safe to speak openly and find a way forward.
I have a special interest in bereavement and loss having trained and worked with The Prince of Wales Hospice, and the Wakefield Bereavement Service. I believe counselling can be comforting for people who are processing the death of a loved one, and the complex emotions that accompany bereavement as well as the ripple effects this can have in families and communities.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
