About me

You present well on the outside. Inside, something feels different - exhausted, disconnected, or quietly aware that something has to change, even though you're managing, coping, getting through it. If that's familiar, you're not alone, and you're not in the wrong place.

I'm Dr Sanya Krljes, a Consultant Clinical Psychologist. I work with individuals struggling with trauma, anxiety and depression, burnout, relationship patterns, identity and self-esteem, and major life transitions. Some are experiencing crisis, while others are managing but aware they've been carrying something for too long, or that the way they cope is no longer working.

Therapy with me is collaborative and unhurried, and you're always in control of its pace and direction. We start with a free 30-minute conversation, no obligation, so we can both get a sense of fit before anything else. If it feels right, we move to a longer initial consultation to properly understand what's going on and what you want to change. From there, the work is real - not managing symptoms, but changing the patterns underneath them.

Sessions are available in person in London or online across the UK.

Training, qualifications & experience

I bring over 20 years of clinical experience and a combination of neurosicence and psychology. My qualifications include a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience (Imperial College London) alongside my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (UCL), and an MSc in Neuroscience (King's College London). That background means I don't just apply a single technique and hope it fits you.  I understand why a particular approach works for a particular person, and why insight alone often isn't enough to produce lasting change.

I draw on a range of evidence-based approaches depending on what's actually in front of me, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mentalization-Based Therapy, Mindfulness-based approaches, and Compassionate Mind Training.

I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist, a Chartered Psychologist, and an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (AFBPsS).

Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
