About me

I am a Chartered Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and the British Psychological Society. I provide warm, respectful and personally tailored therapy for adults, teenagers and their families, covering a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, depression, stress, and PTSD. 

Training, qualifications & experience

I graduated in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Philosophy and Sociology. In 1998 I completed a BPS accredited Psychology degree in Oxford. I then undertook a 3-year – Counselling Psychology programme at the City, University of London, and completed my master's degree in 2005 and my Post-Masters degree in 2006.

I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and the British Psychological Society and work to the high professional standards they set. My registration number is PYL36960. In line with their standards, I have full professional indemnity and public liability insurance.

I have more than 20 years of experience in higher education, the private sector and the NHS.

Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

My training in a diverse range of psychological techniques allows me to offer therapy adapted to an individual’s needs.

I am predominantly guided by the principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with a focused and goal-oriented approach. When appropriate I supplement this with Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Person-centred Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy. This blended and personalised methodology empowers my clients to improve their mental health and achieve their goals
