About me
Are you feeling overwhelmed? Maybe you’re anxious, feeling lost or having difficulties with a relationship. Whatever you may be struggling with right now, you have taken the first step by thinking about speaking to someone. But now how do you know who to choose?
I remember from personal experience how hard this can be, and how getting a sense of who could be a good fit for you can feel daunting. If you would like to get in touch, for an initial introductory chat, with no obligation, this can give you the chance to see whether we could work together.
I am a qualified person-centred counsellor, which means that I will work alongside you in whatever it is that you are struggling with. I will not tell you what to do, as I believe that we are the greatest experts on ourselves.
I will be guided by you and will work at your pace. Whether you are an individual or a couple seeking counselling. We may not always know how to express or name our feelings or what we are experiencing. But given the space to explore this, in a safe and non-judgemental environment, we can gain clarity, strength and a deeper understanding of ourselves, in whatever we are facing.
I have extensive experience of working in healthcare, within palliative care, where I was providing pre and post bereavement counselling to patients and their carer’s. Following this I began working for the mental health charity MIND, supporting a wide range of clients, with difficulties ranging from anxiety/depression, dealing with a mental health diagnosis, past trauma, grief in many forms, neurodiversity, relationship/family difficulties and currently running my own private practice, where I bring together all this experience to help support individuals and couples.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting and it is important you feel comfortable. I offer an initial free 20-30-minute consultation over the phone so you can ask any questions, see how I work and get a sense of who I am and if you want to work with me.
My sessions are 50 minutes (for individuals) and 60 minutes (for couples) and are normally offered weekly at the same time and day.
I offer one to one sessions in person, online or on the telephone.
