About me

Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, or trauma, and feel like these challenges are holding you back from living your life? Do you want to reconnect with yourself, find inner strength, and gain some control over your emotions and experiences?

At my counselling practice, I provide a supportive, non-judgmental space where we can work together to help make space to allow joy back into your life.  I do this by working in the outdoors, allowing nature to help provide some support in processing the thoughts in your head.

I am a qualified psychodynamic therapist (a form of talking therapy) working in the outdoors.  I am trained to be able to see patterns of behaviour in your life that seem to be repeating again and again and perhaps you are now at a place where you realise want to create your own new patterns of living.

I work in the outdoors as it provide additional support to the therapy process.  I believe that therapy while walking can feel more gentle because while we walk your body is able to start to process difficult emotions.

In the outdoors, you are free to move, sit, or simply stop and take in nature. We can walk along paths, pavements, or we can sit and talk outside.

There are many reasons why people choose therapy.  Life transitions such as work challenges, peri/menopause, diagnosed (late) neurodivergence, marriage adjustments, or retirement can all become challenging and may benefit from the perspective that therapy brings.  Outdoor therapy can can be particularly beneficial for those with ADHD and ND conditions.

I am working in Fife, Edinburgh, West Lothian and South Queensferry. I can consider other areas in the nearby vicinity.  We agree together where we are going to meet and walk.

If you think I am the counsellor for you and don't fancy walk and talk, then get in touch as I have some flexibility to work indoors.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Relations and Counselling. I prefer to work psychodynamically in the outdoors. Commonly this is walking and talk therapy or it could be sitting outside for a session.

I have worked with anxiety, repetitive and attacking inner voices,  feelings of self-doubt, anger and resentment, as well as holding feelings of “being stuck” and being unsure where to go next in life.

I have been late diagnosed with ADHD & developmental dyslexia. I have counselling experience in working with those that have experienced trauma in their lives. Working with trauma requires a structured approach to therapy which is helpful to all clients.

I have training in trauma and also working therapeutically in the outdoors.

I have a degree in Social Anthropology and a wide range of experience of working in business and the third sector.

Each walk is risk assessed and I can search for specific outdoor spaces that suit your individual need and circumstance. Outdoor therapy is suitable for those using wheel chairs - we can wheel and talk or simply sit outside.
