About me

I am a trauma-informed walk & talk therapist, offering therapy outdoors in natural spaces.  I specialise in gently exploring unresolved early life experiences that can influence your thoughts, emotions, and relationships in ways that are hard to see on your own.  If you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or aware that something from the past is still affecting you this may be helpful to you, even if you can’t quite put it into words at the moment.

Whether you’re in crisis or carrying something that’s been there for a long time, I offer a dedicated space to think — with someone who’s fully in your corner. Together, we’ll begin to understand how past experiences may be affecting you now.

I am a trauma informed, psychodynamic counsellor which means I work with an awareness of how past experiences can live in the body and shape your present — and I will never push you faster than you’re ready to go.

Therapy can help ease symptoms like anxiety, shutdown, or burnout, while also creating the possibility for deeper emotional healing and lasting change.

I work outdoors in natural green spaces across SW Fife, South Queensferry, West Lothian and North Edinburgh. Walk & talk therapy offers a nature-based alternative to the therapy room. Walking side by side can feel less intense than sitting face-to-face, and being in nature often creates a grounded, calming environment. Movement can help emotions flow more freely. It can also reduce anxiety and offer a sense of grounding during the session.

I have experience supporting neurodivergent clients through walk & talk therapy. If you’ve received a diagnosis — or are beginning to wonder if you might be neurodivergent — this space can support you in making sense of what that means for your life.

This way of working can be especially helpful for neurodivergent adults, those processing developmental trauma, or anyone navigating significant life changes — burnout, menopause, late diagnosis, relationship shifts, or a growing sense that something needs to change.

You don’t need to have everything figured out — just a sense that you’d like things to feel different. If this resonates, you’re very welcome to get in touch.

I offer a free 20-minute chat where we can talk about:
• What’s bringing you here
• How I work
• Whether this feels like a good fit

The intro chat isn’t therapy — just a calm, no-pressure space to ask questions and see if we’re right for each other.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Relations and Counselling. I work psychodynamically in the outdoors. In general this happens through walk and talk therapy however it can be done by sitting down, outside in nature.

I currently volunteer with Safe Space, Dunfermline as a group co facilitator and am currently training to run my own groups.

I am a Trustee of Trauma Healing Together, a charity supporting survivors of trauma, living in Scotland.

I have been late diagnosed with ADHD & developmental dyslexia. I have counselling experience in working with those that have experienced trauma in their lives. Working with trauma requires a structured approach to therapy which is helpful to all clients.

I have undergone training in providing a trauma informed practice, training on neuro diversity and also in working therapeutically in the outdoors.

I have a degree in Social Anthropology and a wide range of experience of working in business and the third sector.

Further information

I am working in Dunfermline, Perth, Central & SW Fife and South Queensferry. These areas are full of beautiful paths, woods, beaches and pavement for walking and talking. We could simply agree on a spot and sit outside for our sessions.

There is a huge benefit to working outside in nature. Nature is protecting, whilst walking and being outside provide support for mind and body.

Wheelchair user access
Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

Each walk is risk assessed and I can search for specific outdoor spaces that suit your individual need and circumstance. Outdoor therapy is suitable for those using wheel chairs - we can wheel and talk or simply sit outside.
