About me

My name is Dr. Sam Perera-Gill.

I am a clinical psychologist offering psychological assessment and therapy to adults and children who may be suffering from a variety of psychological difficulties.

I am registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC). I hold a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure and have full Professional Indemnity Insurance.

I take an individual and integrative approach to therapy, incorporating systemic, cognitive-behavioural, acceptance-commitment therapy, solution-focused and narrative ways of working.

​I am an experienced clinician with specialist skills in delivering evidence-based psychological interventions to clients.  I work across the age-span, from childhood through adolescence into adulthood and work with those struggling with various psychological difficulties and mental health problems.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified clinical psychologist. I am a registered member of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

My qualifications are:

  • BSc Psychology, University College London
  • MSc Philosophy of Mental Disorder, Kings College London
  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (D.Clin.Psych), University College London

I have over 16 years experience of working in the NHS and privately and have knowledge of working with individuals – adults, children and adolescents, couples, families, people with learning disabilities and older adults, as well as working with adults in a secure forensic setting.

In addition to my private work, I also work within the NHS as a clinical psychologist within a Paediatric Psychology Service. I work in general paediatrics, whilst also specialising in the gastroenterology and oncology services. My role involves working with children, adolescents and families where there are long-term medical and physical health difficulties and providing consultation and training to other healthcare professionals.

Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
