About me
My name is Sally, and I offer a comfortable, relaxed environment in which clients can explore their thoughts and feelings in confidence without being judged.
I am a qualified and experienced Counsellor and Supervisor with over 15 years experience of working within the mental health sector as a one to one therapist and a Counselling Service Manager in an agency setting, providing a dependable, trusted and award winning placement for local counselling students.
I am personable, dependable, empathic, supportive and trustworthy. I understand the importance of confidentiality and respect someone else’s perspective.
Over the years most of the client issues I have encountered encompass loss and control in some way, shape or form. Many clients feel out of control and helpless or in despair, and would like to be able to clear a pathway for themselves to work out a more manageable way of living with less anxiety. Many clients just want to be listened to, and for some that is a rare luxury as friends and family often have their own agenda. Regular reviews and goal setting to reflect where a client is, in relation to their therapy journey are part of the therapeutic process and help to build trust and structure.
In therapy we explore the impact the client's past has upon their behavioural and lifestyle choices in the present and from this we are able to build a picture; unravelling blocks and barriers to the client's happiness and clarity of focus. The aim is to simplify the client's world when there is chaos present and focus on perspective and working with options available.
I see clients with a variety of issues, such as grief, bereavement, anxiety, depression, control, co dependency and loss.
I am a registered member of the BACP and adhere to their code of ethical practice.
I am also an Accredited member of the NCS.
I am fully covered with Professional Liability Insurance.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
