About me
When life feels overwhelming, you don’t have to face it alone.
Whether you’re looking for support for yourself or your child, reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step. You might be wondering whether counselling will help, whether you’ll feel comfortable, or whether your child will actually engage.
Perhaps your child has become anxious, withdrawn, is struggling with friendships or refusing school. Maybe they’re finding it difficult to manage big emotions, or simply don’t seem like themselves anymore.
Or perhaps you’re feeling exhausted by anxiety, stress, low mood, relationship difficulties, chronic illness or the lasting impact of difficult life experiences.
Whatever has brought you here, you don’t have to work through it alone.
As both a therapist and a parent, I understand how difficult it can be to watch someone you love struggle whilst feeling unsure how to help.
One of the things parents tell me most often is:
“I’m worried they won’t talk to a counsellor.”
The reality is that children and teenagers don’t have to know what to say before they arrive. My role isn’t to make them talk. It’s to create a safe, accepting relationship where they gradually feel comfortable enough to open up, in their own time and at their own pace.
Depending on what feels right for them, sessions may include talking, creative activities, Lego, Domino Therapy, games, drawing or sand tray work. Every session is tailored to the individual rather than expecting everyone to fit one particular approach.
Adults come to therapy for many different reasons too. You might be experiencing anxiety, stress, burnout, low self-esteem, grief, trauma, relationship difficulties or simply feeling overwhelmed by life.
Therapy offers a calm, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can slow everything down, understand what’s happening beneath the surface and begin making sense of your experiences.
Above all else, I believe the relationship we build together is what creates lasting change. My aim is to provide a compassionate, accepting space where you feel genuinely heard, understood and supported.
Alongside running Patchwork Pathways Therapy, I also work as a counsellor with Service Six, a leading organisation supporting children, young people and families.
For over 20 years I’ve worked alongside children, teens and families, first within education and now as a therapist. I hold an MSc in Counselling Children and Young People (a Master’s degree in counselling, with a specialist focus on children and young people) and am a registered member of the BACP (MBACP).

Taking the first step
Finding the right therapist is important, and it’s completely understandable if you’re unsure where to begin.
That’s why I offer a free 15-minute introductory telephone call. It gives you the opportunity to tell me a little about what’s been happening, ask any questions you have, and decide whether I feel like the right therapist for you or your child.
There’s no pressure to book afterwards. Sometimes having that first conversation is enough to help you decide on the next step.
If you already feel ready to begin, you’re very welcome to book an appointment online.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
