About me
Hi, I’m Rupert Fishwick. I offer one-to-one and couples counselling both online and in person, as well as walking therapy for those who prefer to talk while moving through nature.
My approach is calm, grounded and centred on you. I offer a space where you can speak freely, feel genuinely heard and explore whatever’s going on beneath the surface—at your pace, in your own way.
Having worked through personal grief and transformation myself, I understand how deeply trauma, loss, and identity shifts can shape the way we relate to ourselves and others. That lived understanding informs the way I work: with care, curiosity and a deep respect for your story. Together, we can explore the beliefs, patterns, and emotions that may be holding you back and support you in reconnecting with who you are.
Many of the people I work with arrive feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected. Some are navigating anxiety, depression, intrusive thoughts, or burnout. Others are managing relationship struggles, low self-esteem, self worth doubts or a sense of having lost touch with themselves.
Therapy can be a space to slow down, reflect and find a new way forward. Whether you're carrying grief or facing challenges in your relationships, I’m here to listen and support you in finding clarity, confidence and connection.
Ways we can work together:
In-person
Online therapy
Walking therapy outdoors in natural surroundings
I offer a free 15-minute consultation so you can get a feel for whether we’d be a good fit. Just reach out when you’re ready.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I became a therapist because I know what it’s like to struggle and feel as though the right support isn’t out there. My approach is down-to-earth, compassionate, and person-centred, meaning I won’t tell you what to do but will instead help you explore your thoughts and emotions in a way that feels safe and constructive.
I work with clients facing a range of challenges, from anxiety and intrusive thoughts to relationship difficulties, self-doubt, and past trauma. I also have experience working with emergency service personnel, supporting those who face unique pressures and emotional challenges.
Therapy with me is flexible and tailored to you—whether that’s talking things through in my comfortable therapy room, meeting online or walking outdoors for a more relaxed and natural setting. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to make sense of what’s going on in your life.
I offer a free 15-minute consultation, so if you’re wondering whether therapy could help, feel free to get in touch.
