About me

Hello, my name is Rowley Moore. I am a CBT/Person Centred Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor. Up until March 2023 I worked for a charity providing a range of services to young people in Liverpool for 14 years. I have since fully transitioned into private practice.

I am an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their ethical framework. I attend monthly counselling supervision and actively participate in Continuous Professional Development to ensure my practice is up to date.

I offer face to face and online supervision for qualified and student counsellors (working with a client cohort aged 14 upwards) and face to face and online individual counselling (working with a client cohort aged 14 upwards) within the safe and supportive environment of my home office in Sandymoor Runcorn.

My supervision is tailored to the specific needs of the individual using the Hawkins & Shohet 7 eyed model. This ensures comprehensive focus on the client, the therapist, the strategies and interventions used by the therapist, myself (the experience I bring), the relationship between myself and the therapist, the relationship between the client and therapist and the wider context in which therapy takes place.

As a seasoned experienced counsellor understanding the magnitude of taking that first step to seek help, I provide a safe relational environment where a client can release at their own pace and level of willingness to speak. I will accompany my client on their journey providing understanding, support and appropriate challenge/guidance, to reach their desired goal(s).

Availability: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 9am – 7pm

I offer a free initial 30 minute telephone, online or face to face consultation to ensure we are compatible to work together.

Thank you for viewing my profile.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

ACC
Association for Christian Counsellors (ACC)

The Association of Christian Counsellors and Linked Professions is a professional body representing and setting standards for Christian counselling and care in the UK. The organisation is made up of various different membership categories, including Counsellor and Accredited, and requires all members working as counsellors to undertake Continuous Professional Development on a regular basis.

I have extensive experience (30 yrs) working within an emergency service environment from frontline delivery through to senior management.

Professionally and Personally, I acutely understand the nuances of working with and alongside diversity.  This informs my particular interest in Unconscious Bias, a subject on which I give presentations.

I am interested in, and incorporate into my practice, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and Polyvagal Theory.

I have also attended training inputs on:

  • Post Slavery Syndrome - Exploring the Clinical Impact of the Trans- Atlantic Slave Trade.
  • Single Session Therapy / One at A Time Therapy.
