About me
I am a warm and compassionate Counselling Psychologist. People seek therapy for many different reasons and whatever brings you to therapy, I offer a non-judgemental and welcoming space.
My main therapeutic approach is psychodynamic therapy, with a focus on attachment. Sometimes we can get stuck in unhelpful patterns, perhaps we keep running into difficulties in our relationships, perhaps we often feel overwhelmed by anxious feelings or perhaps it feels like low self-esteem is holding us back from living a full life. Often we know these things are damaging to us, but we can't seem to shift them. Psychodynamic therapy provides a space to reflect and make links between the present and our past, in order to make sense of why we feel this way. With this understanding, we can develop ways to move forward and to live a life that feels more free and full.
I have a perinatal specialism and I am a qualified Parent Infant Psychotherapist. I have a special interest, and much experience, in parenting, antenatal and postnatal related issues including anxiety around baby, low mood, worries about the relationship with the baby, birth trauma and baby loss.
I am also trained in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). If clients are interested, I can incorporate elements of this model into the therapy. This might work particularly well for those who are coming to therapy for anxiety or low mood.
Training, qualifications & experience
I qualified as a Counselling Psychologist in 2010. I am registered with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council) and I adhere to their code of conduct and ethical guidelines. I am also a qualified Parent Infant Psychotherapist.
I currently work as a Parent Infant Psychotherapist for a charity based in Dorset. I have worked in various roles within the NHS, including several adult eating disorder outpatient services and, most recently, in an inner-London child & adolescent mental health service (CAMHS). I have worked for a broad range of community organisations, such as a bereavement service, a women’s centre, several charities supporting vulnerable parents, Samaritans and more.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
