About me
Hi, I'm Rosie, a psychotherapeutic counsellor working in the High Peak area. I can provide a secure, confidential and non-judgemental space for you to explore the issues you are facing, creating a safe environment so that together we can shine a light on issues which you may feel are too big to tackle on your own. I can help you to reach for those first glimmers of hope, and take steps towards your true potential as an empowered, connected and fulfilled person who is in charge of their own healing journey.
Most people at some point in their lives have felt lost and confused, in the darkness looking to find some sign of hope or direction. We may wonder why we feel or act a certain way and want to explore reasons. During difficult times, we can also feel alone and lacking that supportive relationship to listen to our feelings without judgement. We may have shame in needing help, but everyone needs support at some point in their lives.
At Peak Pathways Counselling I aim to provide a compassionate therapeutic space which will allow you to access that support.
I offer remote video and phone counselling, and I am also trained in Walk and Talk therapy, which is very effective for low mood, anxiety and self-esteem issues. Walk and Talk Therapy uses the benefits of nature and light exercise to enhance your therapy, and can be particularly effective for some neuro-divergent clients. I am also in the process of setting up an indoor space for in person therapy, which means being able to utilise more creative tools, so please enquire if you are interested in this option.
I work in an eclectic way – I am trained in psychodynamic therapy, which aims to explore deeply rooted issues and the intergenerational patterns behind our emotions, behaviours and relationships. This knowledge, and my interest in childhood attachment underpins the way that I work, providing a caring therapeutic relationship designed to help you build a sense of inner strength and security. However, my style of working is also compassionately client led, meaning that I aim to foster a sense of personal agency, allowing my client discovery of their own therapeutic healing process.
I am trauma informed and will always endeavour to work safely with my clients in this regard.
I have experience in working with attachment, trauma and abuse, relationships and parenting issues. I am knowledgeable regarding neurodiverse needs and can offer support in these areas. I also have an interest in creative therapies and inner child work. I continue to expand my professional training in order to meet a wide range of client needs.
I invite you to contact me to schedule a free 15 minute phone consultation to see if you would like to work with me.
