About me
I work best with people who are seeking understanding for who they are, their experiences and feel as if they have been carrying everything for a long time.
You might feel as if you're always giving and pushing forward, always putting others first but never truly happy or rested. You could feel as if you don't you belong, you don't know who you are - this could be as a result of a relationship, a career, or becoming a parent. You could simply feel as if you've been being strong for such a long time, and you can't carry the weight of it any longer. No matter what you're seeking support for, you should be proud for taking this first step.
While the therapy room is a professional space and the therapist-client relationship is professional, I aim to create a safe space for you to be yourself (swearing is absolutely allowed, as well as humour!).
You can expect a relaxed atmosphere, I aim to be a calm individual, gentle but willing to challenge you when necessary. Whether you're seeking support from childhood experiences, grief/loss, past trauma, anxiety/depression or neurodivergence (Autism/ADHD/AuDHD).
I aim to sit with you, to hear you and to guide and support you to be the best version of yourself, whatever that may look like for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am trained to work integratively as no one person is the same, this means I can use different theories to suit your needs. Underpinning the majority of my work is a humanistic perspective focusing on client-centred therapy, this means as the client your needs/goals lead our sessions. You can expect a calm space, compassion and humour when necessary.
I have a degree in Psychology which supports my work as a therapist, I gained my Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling a few years later. I have spent the majority of my professional career working in a women's centre specialising in domestic abuse as well as common mental health problems. I have my own private practice and specialise in working with depression, anxiety, life changes, grief and bereavement, and common mental health problems. I enjoy being a therapist, and supporting clients find a better quality of life.
My main experience, I feel is lived experience, particularly with chronic illnesses which allows me to connect with my clients on a deeper level of understanding.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
