About me

Hello, I’m Rosahn Devonshire, a qualified counsellor and a registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).

Trying to find a counsellor that is the ‘right fit’ can be daunting but also a courageous step. Hopefully, I can make this process somewhat easier. If you’re new to therapy or have found it helpful in the past, you can expect sessions where you will be listened to and fully heard without judgement.

My counselling approach is Person-Centred - grounded in empathy, trust, and respect. However, I understand that no two journeys are the same, and I tailor my support to meet each person where they are whether you're processing a specific event or coping with longer-term impacts on your well-being and relationships.

With a varied background working with clients from all walks and stages of life, I’ve supported people facing a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, loss, low self-esteem, and life transitions. Working with a charity committed to supporting survivors of domestic and sexual abuse, I have experience and extensive training  in trauma-informed therapy. I have also trained in and have an interest in somatic therapy (the mind/body connection) which can help regulate the nervous system and promote a feeling of safety within your body.

Whether you're seeking short-term support or a longer journey of self-discovery and healing, I'm here to walk alongside you as one human to another. My aim is to provide a calm, confidential space where you can speak freely, feel understood, and begin to make meaningful change at your own pace.

I am happy to respond by text or email or feel free to request a call back, whichever is your preferred method of communication.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
