I am a fully qualified Psychodynamic Psychotherapist, and I work with a wide range of issues.
I provide a private and confidential space, where you and I can work together to explore whatever concerns or difficulties you might be experiencing
These might be concerns arising from recent events, or long-standing issues that you feel are preventing you from fully engaging in your life.
I work with people who are having difficulty with things like:
- Depression and low moods
- Panic attacks
- Angry feelings
- Self esteem/confidence
- Difficulties at work including redundancy
- Relationship issues
- Worries about sexual matters
- Abuse (sexual/violent or psychological)
How do I work?
Your sessions with me are private. I offer a safe and non-judgemental environment where you can bring whatever is distressing you.
I will listen carefully to whatever you bring to your sessions, in order that we may try to understand your thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
Gaining insight into the nature of underlying emotional conflicts can bring relief. It can also open up the possibility of changing unhelpful patterns and behaviours that previously may have held you back, or caused you distress.
I work with you so that you can develop a greater understanding of yourself, so that you may cope better with how you feel, and how you interact with people, and the world around you.
Sessions are at the same time, and on the same day each week.
I offer open-ended long-term psychotherapy where you and I work together to understand you at a greater depth, and over time. This work is open-ended and gives you the time and space to gradually learn more about yourself.
I also offer short term counselling which is typically 12 sessions, where you and I might try and focus on one particular issue that you are having difficulty with.
How to begin
First, please call, text or email me to set up an initial session. During the week, I will reply within 24 hours.
We can then have a brief phone conversation and/or arrange an initial consultation to meet each other, talk about therapy and think about working together.
The initial consultation costs £70.
