About me
Whether you're feeling anxiety, a lack of confidence, or are generally overwhelmed, it is important to choose the therapist who is right for you.
The relationships we have, or that we lack, can leave us confused, frustrated, or deeply hurt. Our environment, and how we are seen by others, can make us feel pressurised, dismissed, or misunderstood.
Together, we can work to understand your current and past experiences, so you can process the painful feelings that have left you distressed. Working sensitively and at your pace, in a trauma-informed way, allows us to explore how you feel without judgment.
How we can work together
We can also be curious about unconscious beliefs that have created unhelpful patterns of thought. Breaking these patterns enables increased self-awareness, so that you can live your life more freely.
Evidence has shown that a relational style of therapy offers the most effective way of creating deep change. My core training is psychodynamic, but I also draw on humanistic principles to combine the rigour of psychoanalytic understanding with a warm, empathic approach.
Issues I specialise in
I've worked a lot with anxiety, depression and low confidence stemming from difficult family relationships, childhood trauma, estrangement, bereavement and chronic illness or disability. Many of my clients are international or highly mobile, and their experiences often include feelings of insecurity, not belonging, or being displaced. Whatever your situation, I'm ready to listen.
Free consultation
I work over Zoom, or by phone, and can offer both short-term or open ended therapy depending on individual needs. Embarking on a therapeutic journey can feel daunting, so I offer an initial no-obligation 20 minute Zoom consultation. This is an opportunity to discuss any questions that you may have and to think about how we might work together. Please do get in touch and we can arrange to talk.
I have availability coming up for one evening session on Mondays, and one lunchtime session on Tuesdays.
If you can't make these times, please get in touch to discuss whether we can find a suitable space for you.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
In our first full session, we'll revisit what we touched on in our initial call so that we can better understand your situation, and also check in with how you're feeling about starting therapy. The way we work is deep, accessing thoughts and feelings which you're currently not aware of, but I appreciate that at first, leaving space for this in an 'open', unstructured session may feel daunting (particularly if you're quite new to therapy), so I'll adjust to you. This means that I'll leave space for you to freely and safely share whatever is on your mind, but I can also offer questions or prompts if you would prefer more structure or some guidance to help you start. Beginning with a new therapist can feel vulnerable, but know that I'm on your side, working with you to untangle whatever you're struggling with.
