About me
Hello, I'm Rob. What would you like to talk about?
Life throws us many challenges, and they affect us in lots of ways - depression, anxiety, trauma, poor self-esteem, and relationship difficulties to name just a few.
Sometimes we need a little help to overcome the obstacles we face, so that we can get on with our lives.
I can provide you with a supportive and non-judgmental space where you can safely explore your thoughts and emotions, understand how they are affecting you, and find how you can change things for the better.
We worry about burdening loved ones with our troubles. And at times it can be someone in our lives, maybe mum or dad, or a partner, who for whatever reason can be the source of our pain. It helps to turn to a professional, someone not involved in your day to day life but who understands the experiences you are dealing with.
I have provided counselling to NHS Primary Care clients, worked as part of a university counselling team for students and volunteered for a charity helping people to cope with grief. I currently work with an organisation providing counselling for survivors of sexual violence and child sexual abuse. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and practise within their ethical framework.
I am university trained and gained a distinction at Masters level. I continually update my practice through training in a range of skills such as walk and talk therapy, helping people with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and incorporating mindfulness into daily life.
Working together
Life can be overwhelming. You may feel stuck, disconnected from yourself or others. My role as your therapist is to walk by your side through these struggles, helping you to find greater clarity, resilience, and a renewed sense of purpose.
Every person’s experiences are different, and there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to mental health. I integrate techniques from several therapeutic disciplines, such as person-centred therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and mindfulness-based practices.
I’m committed to helping you build self-awareness, emotional resilience, and a sense of inner peace. I look forward to walking alongside you on your healing journey
Next steps
I offer face to face sessions in my practice room, a few minutes walk from Conwy town centre. I work with people across the UK via Zoom, WhatsApp or by phone. Once you have reached out to me by calling, texting or sending an email I will arrange an initial free 20-minute session with you by phone so you can ask any questions, and I can get an idea of what you would like to bring to therapy. Further sessions will last 50 minutes, and we would normally meet at the same time each week. Many people can see significant progress over half a dozen sessions, but everyone's therapeutic journey is unique. We will have regular reviews to the point when you feel ready and confident in the progress you’ve made to move on without counselling.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
