About me

Hello, I’m Rob. I use talking therapies to help people experiencing a wide range of personal challenges, including depression, anxiety, PTSD and trauma, low self-esteem, grief and relationship difficulties.

I provide a supportive and non-judgmental space where you can safely explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences.

My approach is grounded in the belief that each person is unique, and as such, the counselling journey should be tailored to meet their specific needs and goals.

I have worked with a wide range of clients in numerous settings. I have supported NHS Primary Care Services clients referred for counselling by local mental health teams and GPs. I have provided therapeutic support for students as part of a university wellbeing team, and I have volunteered for a charity helping people to cope with grief. I currently work with an organisation providing counselling for survivors of sexual violence. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and practise within their ethical framework.

I am university trained in counselling and gained a distinction at Masters level. I continually update my practice through training in a range of skills such as walk and talk therapy, helping people with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and incorporating mindfulness into daily life.

Working together

Life can often be overwhelming. You may be feeling stuck, or disconnected from yourself or others. My role as your therapist is to walk by your side through these struggles, helping you to find greater clarity, resilience, and a renewed sense of purpose.

In my practice, I recognise that every person’s experiences are different, and there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to mental health. That’s why I integrate techniques from several therapeutic disciplines, such as person-centred therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and mindfulness-based practices. This integrative approach means we can work together to address not just your symptoms, but also the deeper patterns and experiences that may be contributing to your current difficulties. It provides a balanced approach that honours the complexity of being human.

No matter what brings you to therapy, I’m committed to helping you build self-awareness, emotional resilience, and a sense of inner peace. My aim is to support you in navigating life’s complexities, empowering you to make meaningful changes and move forward with greater clarity and confidence. I look forward to walking alongside you on your healing journey

Next steps

I offer face to face sessions in my practice room, which is a few minutes walk from Conwy town centre. There is on-street parking and a free car park close by. I am available to work with people across the UK via Zoom, WhatsApp or on the phone. Once you have reached out to me by calling, texting or sending an email I will arrange an initial free 20-minute session with you by phone so you can ask any questions, and I can get an idea of what you would like to bring to therapy, and how we might work together. Further sessions will last 50 minutes, and we would normally meet at the same time each week. Many people can see significant progress over half a dozen sessions, but everyone's therapeutic journey is unique. We will have regular reviews to the point when you feel ready and confident in the progress you’ve made to move on without counselling.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
