About me

I am a qualified counsellor who works with children, young people and adults. I offer face to face counselling in a safe non judgemental space. I offer a warm, empathic and confidential space to help you find positive change for yourself. We can work through any issues you may want to, have a place to offload or maybe look at strategies that can help with whatever may be affecting you.

As an experienced person centred therapist I work in a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental way to provide a safe space for you to explore whatever you may wish to in your counselling sessions. I believe that everybody is unique and tailor counselling sessions to support this belief in ensuring that we work together to achieve your goals.

I treat it as a huge honour and privilege when people put their trust in me not only to support themselves but also to support their children. Being a teenager can be a really difficult time in life to work through and sometimes all it takes is having somewhere to be yourself in a non judgemental safe space.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have over 20 years of experience in working with children and young people and have a true passion for helping others.

I have all relevant qualifications for counselling adults and young people. I am trained and have experience working with a wide range of issues including...self harm, low mood, anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, bereavement and more.

Sometimes talking therapy can be difficult for some and so with that in mind I often use creative practices to enhance sessions, often meaning you can feel a little more comfortable exploring difficult topics.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
