About me
Hello my name is Rhianan. I am a fully qualified Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor & Supervisor for other Counsellors, working in private practice. I am also an experienced Counselling Lecturer/Tutor training student Counsellors. At my core I am Person Centred in my approach as well as drawing upon other Humanistic models including Gestalt, Transactional Analysis as well as some Psychodynamic concepts. You as a client will be at the centre of the work, respecting you as a unique individual, with unique needs and context. I endeavour to practice in an affirmative way honouring every individual. I have undergone training to work with neurodivergent clients, though this does not qualify me to offer diagnosis. I have experience in many areas including low self esteem & lack of confidence, loss of identity, grief, physical and sexual abuse, domestic violence, struggling as a parent, adult children of alcoholics, relationship issues, emotional & narcissistic abuse (parents/partners). I also have experience of working with religious trauma.
I offer remote therapy as more and more clients are now opting for online as this can be convenient to them. Remote Counselling can be just as effective as in person therapy. I can offer a free 15 minute consultation if you would like to try this and then decide if you feel it can work for you.
I use Zoom as the main online platform and can offer telephone if this is preferred.
I offer individual clients sessions for £45 for a full 60 minute session.
I am a qualified Supervisor and can see both qualified and student Counsellors. My fees for Supervision are £50 for students and £75 for qualified for the whole 1.5 hours per month.
Many present day issues stem from past experiences and our self concept that comes from our experiences. At times we are not living the life we want, so my aim is to work at your pace to help you understand within yourself why patterns may keep coming up, why barriers are ever present to the life you want to lead.
Often we are given a life script or messages by those around us, whether familial, cultural or societal, therapy can help to look at the external life scripts then start to challenge and separate the external influences to be able to find your own internal locus and begin to write your own script. I endeavour to work in a non-judgemental way and will not advise or tell you what to do but help you to find your way forward and support you with this.

Further information
Accessing counselling is not the easiest thing to do. There may be many fears around opening up old wounds, or areas of life that have been buried. In my experience the very areas we want to avoid and bury are the very ones we need to face and work through, not try to go around or brush under the carpet. This survival technique can serve us for a while but eventually the things we think we have buried will pop up in unhealthy ways through out our lives and relationships.
Through therapy we can work through these issues in a compassionate and safe environment so a more emotionally healthy life can be lead and patterns and habits that prevent you from living to your full potential, being the best version of yourself can be steadily worked through.
Counsellors are trained to be able to safely hold you as a client with some areas of life you may feel painful, uncomfortable, in shame over, vulnerable or broken. Seeking counselling is the first step to allowing yourself to look at the things buried deep inside- while growing and freeing yourself of the weight of them through the therapeutic process.
Some times there can be scepticism about counselling and whether it works and many factors can feed into this perception, including our own readiness for therapy and our finding the right fit as a client/counsellor.
I encourage you to take the leap or step, depending on how big that step looks at the moment- and give it a try, a real genuine try and begin to explore, heal and grow to the healthiest version of yourself- because its all in there!
