About me

Hello my name is Rhianan. I am a fully qualified Counsellor, working in private practice in South Bristol as well as volunteering as a counsellor for a charity and conducting home visits where appropriate. I also offer Counselling Supervision for both student and qualified Counsellors.

I work in an integrative, person centred way with a humanistic foundation, incorporating healthy challenge. I have worked with a variety of people who have brought a wide spectrum of issues into counselling. I treat each person equally and offer the same core conditions to everyone.

I use an integrative approach with a Humanistic foundation that is guided by self-development and recognises each person’s strengths and choices.

The end of one year and the beginning of a new year can bring up feelings in us that may be difficult to manage alone, maybe you need help put things in perspective-help to heal old wounds that no matter how much we try and bury them they keep cropping up in life- maybe in unhealthy ways.
Counselling really can help.

Training, qualifications & experience

I offer counselling to individual clients as well as supervision for student and qualified counsellors.

As well as the above counselling qualifications I undertake continuing professional development with a minimum of 30 hours top up training per year.

I do not focus my work on specialisms but do have experience working with the following presenting issues:

Sexual abuse
Verbal abuse
Emotional abuse
Physical abuse
Post Natal depression
Loss of job
Relationship breakdown
Domestic violence
Eating disorders
Addictive behaviours
Habit/behaviour change

This list is not extensive as I believe working with the person in the room is the key rather than working directly with the presenting issue.

Further information

Accessing counselling is not the easiest thing to do for all. There may be many fears around opening up old wounds, or areas of life that have been buried.  In my experience the very areas we want to avoid and bury are the very ones we need to face and work through, not try to go around or brush under the carpet.   This survival technique can serve us for a while but eventually the things we think we have buried will pop up in unhealthy ways through out our lives and relationships.

Through therapy we can work through these issues in a compassionate and safe environment so a more emotionally healthy life can be lead and patterns and habits that prevent you from living to your full potential, being the best version of yourself can be steadily worked through.
