About me
Hello my name is Rhianan. I am a fully qualified Counsellor & Supervisor, working in private practice. I work in an integrative way which means I use a variety of methods that is tailored to each individual client need. You as a client will be at the centre and the heart of the work as the foundation of my practice is Person Centred, respecting you as a unique individual, with unique needs.
I offer remote therapy in the entirety of my practice due to the change in client preference, with more and more people opting for online and telephone Counselling. Remote Counselling can be just as effective as in person therapy. I can offer a free 15 minute consultation if you would like to try this and then decide if you feel it can work for you.
I use Zoom as the main online platform and can offer telephone if this is preferred.
I offer individual clients sessions for £45 per 60 minute session.
I am a qualified Supervisor and can see both qualified and student Counsellors. My fees for Supervision are £50 for students and £75 for qualified for the whole 1.5 hours per month.
I have worked with a variety of people who have brought a wide spectrum of issues into counselling, including anxiety, relationship and family issues, low self esteem and depression. As well as emotional abuse and narcissistic abuse.
Many present day issues stem from past experiences, so my aim is to work at your pace to look at what some of the conditions of worth are and help you understand within yourself why patterns may keep coming up, why barriers are ever present.
Often we are given a life script or messages by those around us, whether familial or societal, therapy can help to look at the external life scripts then start to challenge and separate the external influences to be able to find your own internal locus and begin to write your own script. I endeavour to work in a non-judgemental way and will not advise or tell you what to do but help you to find it for yourself.

In 2015 I set up a counselling service in Filwood Broadway at Knowle west health association offering long term as long is needed counselling to people who wouldn't normally be able to afford or access long term therapy easily. Further information
Accessing counselling is not the easiest thing to do. There may be many fears around opening up old wounds, or areas of life that have been buried. In my experience the very areas we want to avoid and bury are the very ones we need to face and work through, not try to go around or brush under the carpet. This survival technique can serve us for a while but eventually the things we think we have buried will pop up in unhealthy ways through out our lives and relationships.
Through therapy we can work through these issues in a compassionate and safe environment so a more emotionally healthy life can be lead and patterns and habits that prevent you from living to your full potential, being the best version of yourself can be steadily worked through.
Counsellors are trained to be able to safely hold you as a client with some areas of life you may feel painful, uncomfortable, in shame over, vulnerable or broken. Seeking counselling is the first step to allowing yourself to look at the things buried deep inside- while growing and freeing yourself of the weight of them through the therapeutic process.
Some times there can be scepticism about counselling and whether it works and many factors can feed into this perception, including our own readiness for therapy and our finding the right fit as a client/counsellor.
I encourage you to take the leap or step, depending on how big that step looks at the moment- and give it a try, a real genuine try and begin to explore, heal and grow to the healthiest version of yourself- because its all in there!
