About me
Hi, I'm Rhian, a qualified therapist offering counselling via an online video platform and phone throughout the UK, and in person in north-east London and the City.
You may be feeling overwhelmed, down, or stuck - or uncertain of the way forward. Or perhaps you’re listening to your gut instinct that life could feel better, or more real.
Whatever you bring, a warm welcome.
I approach therapy as a partnership between us. We start from wherever you are and we take it at your pace.
I listen to you non-judgmentally, in confidence, noticing carefully what you are saying. I don’t push advice or techniques at you. We work together to understand what you need.
I positively value working with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds and all gender identities and sexualities.
Whoever you are, I aim to make you feel safe and appreciated in therapy - as when we feel safe psychologically, we feel free to explore ourselves and can learn to have a better helping relationship with ourselves.
I offer therapy online, by phone and in person as research shows that all these are effective. Whichever you choose, I prioritise your privacy and confidentiality. As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, I work in line with their code of ethics. I am verified with the DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) and registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Training, qualifications & experience
I trained at London's Metanoia Institute. I hold a First Class BSc (Hons) degree in Person-Centred Counselling (Advanced Practitioner), and the BACP’s specialist qualification in providing online and phone therapy.
My experience includes counselling for a West London counselling service and two online agencies where I supported clients with a range of issues. In addition to my private practice, I am a volunteer counsellor for the national charity Change Grow Live, supporting clients in recovery from drug and alcohol dependency and their families.
I am experienced in supporting clients with:
- anxiety and depression
- stress related to work or relationships
- complex bereavement, grief and loss
- recovery from drug and alcohol dependency
- long-term health conditions/disabilities
neurodivergence - abuse and trauma
- exploring identities and difference
- experiences of disadvantage and discrimination
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information
I offer a free 20-minute consultation session to help us decide if we are a good fit for each other.
All therapy sessions are 50 minutes, usually held weekly. I charge £55 per 50-minute session online or by phone, and £80 for in-person sessions, which includes the hire of specialist therapy rooms.
I do not lock you into any fixed period of therapy. You can choose to attend as long as you wish. However, fees are payable in advance of each session and I ask for 48 hours notice if you wish to cancel. The full fee is payable if less than 48 hours' notice of cancellation is given.
