About me
My approach is person-centred. This means it is non-directive as I will work from your own personal set of circumstances. Therapeutic healing starts with you.
When you first reach out for help, you are doing a very brave thing. In many ways, half the battle to overcome mental health issues has been achieved by accepting you need to see a therapist. So I offer a free consultation to discuss your individual needs and to enlighten you more on how I work. This is usually done by telephone or video conferencing.
Our sessions together are underpinned by empathy, being genuine with each other and unconditional acceptance of you and anything you want to bring to our sessions. Then, depending on your preference, we may use other therapy models to help you move forward.
Maintaining the core values of empathy, unconditional positive regard for you as well as a congruence (being authentic), I also use other modes of therapy. These include Person Centred; Cognitive Behavioural (CBT); Psychodynamic; Transactional analysis; Gestalt and other creative practices and models. Such as art therapy, connecting with nature, timeline work or visualisation.
