About me
Deciding to have therapy takes courage and can be daunting. You will receive a warm welcome from me.
I am a person centred counsellor which means that I am here to be with you on your journey of self exploration and understanding. My training has also focussed on trauma, particularly understanding this through the lens of our nervous system, and how experiences of survival and danger can lead us to places of fear and disconnection. We can work together to understand, befriend and regulate your nervous system, enabling experiences of safety, connection and joy.
I work one to one, both online and face to face. Face to face sessions are held in the beautiful therapy room at Kernow Resilience Hub. Each session is 50 minutes, and costs £45, to be paid prior to attending.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Level 5 Diploma in Person Centred Counselling and Therapy.
I am a Polyvagal Informed therapist, having completed a 9 month Foundation programme with world renowned Deb Dana who is the leading clinician in translating polyvagal theory into therapeutic practice.
I work as an Adult Counsellor for CLEAR, emotional trauma and therapy specialists, who provide counselling and therapy for adults affected by sexual abuse, sexual violence and traumatic crime, which may have occured at any point in their lives. I have completed CLEAR’s training in trauma, and in working with clients who self harm.
I am registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, registration number 407678, and work to their professional and ethical standards.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
