About me
We all have stresses and struggles in our life. Counselling is a space for you to explore your experiences, feelings and emotions. It is a space where you are the focus and are free to explore whatever is weighing you down. My job is to listen and support you through whatever you are facing; I am not here to offer opinions or advice but to walk alongside you as you explore, offering support and encouragement with understanding, compassion, and empathy. Your job is to talk, honestly, openly and without fear – to say the things out loud that you have kept hidden inside. All I ask is that you are brave, open to change, and willing to engage in the journey.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I am a fully qualified teacher and counsellor, and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I have a passion for supporting young people and their families through the challenges of growing up in the 21st century, and offer a holistic approach to mental health. I work in an integrative way incorporating different theories and methodologies to tailor therapy to the needs of the individual. My background in education fuels an interest in psychoeducation and the power of understanding how and why feelings, relationships and experiences impact our lives. I can support you to develop resilience, manage strategies and develop communication tools within a safe and secure, non-judgemental therapeutic relationship.
Alongside my private practice I work as a counsellor in schools in Somerset, for a charity providing counselling for young people.
