Rebecca Fox BA(Hons) DPSW DipHyp Ad Dip CP
Feeling as though you are not enjoying life can be difficult. I provide a safe, non-judgmental place to support you to make permanent changes and fulfill your potential as an individual or couple.
I am qualified and experienced in hypnotherapy, psychotherapy and counselling which I believe gives me the ability to support you as deserve to be.
I have over 10 year’s experience working in Social Care both as an unqualified and qualified Social Worker, supported by a placement with my local CAMHS team.
After having my first child in 2007 I decided to continue building upon my therapeutic experience and began a course with Chrysalis. I hold an Advanced diploma in Psychotherapy and Counselling and earned a distinction. I have recently attended training specifically to support those with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), weight control, and mindfulness meditation.
I use my skills and experience to provide therapeutic support for my local community.
My own experiences of counselling, professionally and personally have led me to be the therapist that I am today. I strongly believe that an eclectic approach to therapy is beneficial as it allows me to tailor sessions to your needs specifically rather than using a one size fits all method of support.
What therapy do I offer?
I have trained in many different methods and have studied areas such as psychotherapy and psychoanalysis (which focuses on your past), as well as CBT (which looks at how you can make changes in the here and now). I use hypnotherapy in my sessions if it is appropriate, hypnotherapy can help with past and present issues. I am also able to offer specific support to those suffering from post traumatic stress disorder, as well as generally stress and phobias.
I have attended additional training in PTSD, mindfulness meditation and NLP.
I am able to offer both day, evening and weekend sessions (see below for costs) and am happy to arrange sessions in your home in certain circumstances.
I work within Hertfordshire Therapy Centre with an experienced team of therapists. We offer a wide range of therapies for individuals, couples and children. My colleagues are able to offer play therapy for children for a range of issues from anxiety to autistic spectrum, as well as support for adults with a history of domestic violence and relationship issues.

Areas of counselling I deal with
Other areas of counselling I deal with
Anxiety and Panic disorder
I have used my skills and various methods to support clients to overcome anxiety, panic and phobias. One of my first clients had a severe phobia of frogs and we worked to overcome this.
I understand that anxiety can be all consuming and at times it can be difficult to believe that you will ever be able to overcome it. I work patiently with my clients who achieve change in their own time. Overcoming anxiety, panic and phobias can be amazing!
Depression and depressed moods can affect your view of yourself, your relationships, career and many other areas of your life. Having had both personal and professional experience of depression, I am able to offer you support in this area.
Self-Esteem and Low Self-Confidence
I believe that building up your confidence and self-esteem allows you the mental space to perhaps look at other aspects of you life and become happy and fulfilled.
Anger can cause you and those around you harm, mentally and physically. I am able to offer you support to deal effectively with your anger.
We have many stressors in our life, bereavement, separation and divorce, work, relationship issues., past traumas are to name but a few. Some stress can be a positive thing, it inspires us to take action. However negative stress can cause you physical harm, as well as emotional. I can work with you to identify your negative stress and support you to achieve positive change.
Child Birth and Post Natal Depression
I am a qualified HypnoBirthing Practitioner and use this to support clients to have a calm, comfortable birth experience. This is essentially an antenatal course offered by a therapist, it covers areas such as relaxation, breathing and visualization techniques as well as self-hypnosis.
I have suffered PND myself and use my own experiences as well as my training to support my clients through their own issues. Some clients who have suffered PND in the past worry that this will affect current or future pregnancies, whilst others are suffered PND. I work together with you to help you find a way out of your depression.
I have a particular interest in supporting you with your anxieties, fear, confidence and self-esteem. I believe that building up your confidence and self-esteem allows you the mental space to perhaps look at other aspects of you life and become happy and fulfilled.
