About me

Becky Burchell- Registered Counsellor / Therapist

Life has a way of feeling heavy, and sometimes the hardest person to be kind to is yourself. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, a difficult life transition, or just feeling "stuck," you don’t have to figure it out in isolation.

At Kind Counselling, the name isn't just a label—it’s the foundation of everything I do. I provide a judgment-free space where your story is heard, your feelings are validated, and your pace is respected. Healing doesn’t happen by being hard on yourself; it happens through understanding.

Let’s start with a conversation. No pressure, just kindness.

Hi, my names Becky. I believe healing begins with being heard.

I didn’t become a counsellor because I have all the answers; I became one because I know what it’s like to navigate a world that doesn’t always feel kind. I know how exhausting it is to "hold it all together" while feeling like things are falling apart underneath.

At Kind Counselling, my mission is to provide you with the one thing we all need but rarely get: a space where you don’t have to perform, apologise, or filter your truth.

My Approach

I blend evidence-based techniques with a deeply person-centred philosophy. This means that while I bring the "tools" of therapy to the table—like Transactional Analysis, CBT, Mindfulness, or Person Centred —you bring the expertise on your own life. Together, we look at the patterns holding you back and replace self-criticism with self-compassion.

Outside the Therapy Room

When I’m not in a session, you’ll usually find me filmed clips for my social media pages on Instagram and tik tok. I also love a good dog walk or getting lost in a good book.

I believe that therapy works best when it feels like a real connection between two people, and I bring my authentic self to every session so that you feel safe doing the same.

The first step is often the hardest, but you don’t have to take it alone.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
