About me
Starting therapy can feel daunting, and it’s completely okay to need support as you take that first step.
I’m Rae, a qualified and accredited psychotherapist. My approach draws on CBT, DBT, ACT, CFT, mindfulness, and EMDR. I’ve worked with both adults and children across the NHS, charities, and private practice, and I have a particular interest in how trauma and neurodiversity shape the way we move through the world.
Difficult experiences from the past can leave a deep imprint on sleep, relationships, confidence, and day‑to‑day life. EMDR can be especially helpful in processing those painful memories so they no longer feel as overwhelming or defining.
Inclusivity is at the heart of my work. I offer a non‑judgemental, welcoming space for people of all backgrounds, and I especially value working with those who identify as neurodivergent. I’m always happy to adapt sessions—within my therapeutic scope—to help you feel understood, supported, and comfortable.
If you’re unsure what you need or whether therapy is right for you, you’re welcome to book a free consultation. We can explore your concerns together and decide whether this or another approach might be helpful. If you’re struggling and looking for support, please reach out by phone, email, or message. I aim to respond within 7 days.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am accredited with the BABCP and work in line with their professional and ethical standards. I am committed to ongoing CPD and regular supervision to ensure my practice remains safe, effective, and evidence‑based.
My therapeutic training includes CBT, DBT, Mentalisation‑Based Therapy, EMDR, and ADOS assessment. This range of approaches allows me to tailor therapy to each individual, particularly when working with trauma, neurodiversity, and more complex presentations.
Alongside my clinical work, I also have experience supervising other practitioners, supporting them to develop their skills and deliver high‑quality, compassionate care.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists. BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
