About me

Life happens, and the majority of the time we seem to find a way to "happen" with it. We find a way to navigate through the motions of "doing" and get to a place of "being". Being excited, being present, being happy - but sometimes along the way it can get confusing, blurry and we can feel a bit lost.

As a certified counsellor, I work with you through the confusion, to get to a place of clarity. I explore the past and present with you using an integrated therapeutic approach - blending the different skills I've learnt in practice to assist you with where you are right now.

Many therapists talk about the varying styles of therapy and how they work; I believe that most clients want help, and trust, as a therapist, I will do what it takes professionally to help them. Some clients want to know the therapeutic approaches used - I combine Person-centred, Psychodynamic, Transactional Analysis in a way that meets you where you are and allows you to feel supported through your presenting issues.

I work with a range of issues because, well, life happens!  Anxiety, depression, relationships, parenting, divorce, low mood, self-confidence, childhood trauma, sexual abuse, stress - Life.

Having trained in psychology, and then counselling and coaching, I have a well-studied approach to therapeutic exploration. I have experience in both the NHS and prison services as well as children's therapy and private practice.

In sessions with me, I believe that the client is the expert and with guidance can reach a place of understanding, ready to navigate the next chapter of life. I'm excited to work with you and travel this section of life with you while needed.

Training, qualifications & experience

I've completed 3 counselling courses, a psychology degree, NLP practitioner courses and numerous CPD courses undertaken to ensure I remain skilled in what I love to do.

I've worked with men, women and children alike in schools, the NHS and the prison services, as well as private practice.

I am confident in my ability to support you where you are and help you to move towards a more positive place on your journey.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
