About me

Hello and welcome, my name is Rachel

I always provide a FREE 20 minute consultation phone call before booking a session, do reach out to see how I can support you.

There are many reasons why you may be searching for a counsellor. We all need support at various times in our lives and all for different reasons. Sometimes it might feel as though you are carrying this alone, maybe you are not sure how to cope with it all.

I feel that we all have the right to be heard and to have our feelings acknowledged. I will offer you a safe, confidential space to express yourself, without judgement. You can use this space to reflect on what is going on for you, at your own pace. I will support you and work with you in finding your answer. Reflection and exploration provides you with an opportunity to gain some insight and understanding, which can enable you to move forwards in life.

Counsellors have various ways of working, my approach understands the importance of the therapeutic relationship, that being, the professional relationship between you and I. In order to feel comfortable expressing yourself, it is important that you feel I am the right therapist for you. Do contact me for a free initial call, even if you are unsure, there is no pressure to book a session afterwards.

Whether it's anxiety, panic attacks, low self esteem, depression, childhood trauma, ADHD, anger issues, or perhaps something else, it can sometimes feel difficult to take the first step. If you have not had therapy before, or even if you have, it can feel really daunting. I will do my best to reassure you about the process and answer any concerns you may have.

If you would like to know more, have any questions about what I offer or would like to go ahead and book a free 20 minute consultation call, please call or email. Together we can book this at a time that works for you.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
