About me
I am a Person-Centred Experiential Psychotherapist, offering sessions to adults who are facing emotional difficulty within a broad range of areas.
My approach is grounded and down to earth, and I place great value on the connection we form as people. Person-centred means your uniqueness as an individual is at the centre of our work and I am led by you into what feels important. Experiential means paying attention to what you experience in the moment, both within yourself and in our relationship. My aim is to become finely attuned to your emotions and experiences, so that together we can explore what lies beneath the surface and bring greater clarity to what you are going through and what your needs may be.
It is through our relationship that meaningful therapeutic change can occur. The relationship we build offers an opportunity to explore how you relate to others, how you experience vulnerability, how you respond to challenge, and what happens when you feel misunderstood, uncomfortable or unsure. Within the safety of our relationship, my hope is that you will feel able to bring all parts of yourself into the space and explore your experiences, even when doing so feels difficult or vulnerable.
I will not simply sit back and listen; I will bring curiosity, openness and honesty to our work together, paying attention to what emerges between us. I may gently challenge you at times, not to tell you what to think or how to feel, but to invite reflection, explore different perspectives and help you notice things that may otherwise remain unspoken. By exploring your experiences together, we can begin to understand familiar patterns, make sense of how they have developed, and open up new possibilities for relating to yourself and others.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have completed my COSCA training and hold an MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy, with Distinction.
As part of my training, I undertook clinical work and research at the University of Strathclyde Research Clinic. Here, I worked as both a therapist and researcher, contributing to a deeper understanding of client experiences within person-centred therapy.
I bring over ten years of experience supporting individuals with their mental health, alongside a broader interest in understanding people and what shapes them. My MSc in Arabic and Social Anthropology, together with my experience of living and working in different countries, has deepened my appreciation of the diverse cultural backgrounds, perspectives and life experiences people bring to therapy.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information
I offer a free 20-minute consultation by phone or video call. This is an opportunity for us to get to know one another, for you to ask any questions you may have, and to share a little about what has brought you to counselling.
It also gives us a chance to explore whether working together feels right for you and whether my approach is suited to your needs. There is no pressure or obligation to continue, and you are welcome to take your time in deciding.
