About me

People seek out therapy for a variety of reasons. Whatever the reason, it will be unique to you, which is why I will work closely with you to form an understanding of what brings you to therapy and how I can be of help. As someone who has had personal therapy, I understand first hand how difficult it can be to make that first step, so if you are reading this you are halfway there.

As an integrative therapist, I will draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches to assist you in your healing journey. I see every therapeutic encounter as unique, which is why I will work with you to tailor therapy to your individual needs and preferences. My theoretical and practical training includes person-centred, relational, psychodynamic, and CBT frameworks

I approach my work from a trauma-informed perspective with a heightened awareness of the specific needs that clients may have as a result of past or ongoing trauma. Due to my clinical and personal experience of trauma, I have first-hand understanding of the complex and pervasive impact that it can have on our sense of self, sense of safety in the world, and how it shapes our efforts to cope.

How I can help

I offer both short-term and long-term counselling for a range of difficulties. My focus in therapy is to provide you with a safe and confidential space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings openly without judgement. I will work collaboratively with you to explore what therapy can offer and how we can work together towards your desired goal. My role is to provide support, understanding and professional guidance towards achieving your desired outcome in therapy.

I currently offer therapy online via Zoom or telephone only. Please feel free to email me to set up an initial 15 min free call, either via telephone or Zoom, to discuss what you would like to get out of counselling. If you are happy to continue, we will decide on a suitable day and time, and arrange to see each other weekly or fortnightly, depending on the level of support you would like.

"Polina made me feel comfortable and at ease during out conversations and together we worked through a vast array of issues, emption, fears, stresses, thought processes and coping mechanisms in order to build back my resilience. Polina’s professionalism, kindness and wise counsel has been so incredibly helpful to me and my family, she helped lift a weight that until we met was being placed on my wife’s shoulders and our marriage. Polina has done an amazing job at guiding me through a very challenging time and provided me with the building blocks to move forward and fully recover."

- Kyle, aged 38

"Thank you for your kind words, encouragement, knowledge and for being truly authentic within the therapeutic relationship. I really enjoyed working with you; you opened my eyes to so many aspects of relationships that I was completely blind to. I appreciate your kindness, compassion and providing me with a non-judgmental space to be myself"

- O, aged 48

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
