About me

Warm welcome

I'm a registered psychotherapeutic counsellor with the NCS, and a Rewind therapist, supporting young people and adults who are anxious and worried; grieving; living with experienced trauma or abuse.

You may be feeling that you need to talk through something that has left you feeling a range of emotions that you are finding difficult to understand leaving you confused. You may be feeling a loss that has left you feeling alone and unsure of how to be or move forward; helpless and hopeless from something out of your control; or it could be a trauma that has left you feeling overwhelmed, confused, numb, detached, panicky, shocked, and struggling with day-to-day life. Sometimes you may not be able to pinpoint a specific issue or the words that you feel, and you may not see it as a trauma. This isn’t unusual. When feelings from the trauma or loss are not resolved, they may bring about feelings of anxiety, fear, panic, or terror. You may be thinking differently, feeling differently, and acting differently to what you're used to, you may have lost your way and not know who you are anymore.

Does this sound familiar, If so I can help.

Helping you to understand why you are feeling the way you do by working through past and present experiences will help you to understand yourself and your feelings. Your confidence, self-worth and self-esteem will grow, your worries will become smaller. You will be able to trust yourself to make the right choices for you and have a happier life.

Having had counselling myself, I understand how hard it is to take the first step to find a counsellor that you feel relaxed and comfortable with to talk through your experiences and feelings, that you may never have told anyone before. Be assured, you've come to a place where you can 'just be' you, where you will be listened to, accepted, and understood.  I will work alongside you to help you understand and explore why you are feeling the way you are, giving you time and space to work at your own pace. I offer a free 20-30 minutes initial consultation which gives us a chance to talk about how we will work together and any other questions that you may have. There is no obligation to continue with counselling after this, if I feel that I cannot help I will give you contacts of other counsellors that may be more suited to your needs.

When young people experience a trauma, abuse or loss, they may act out their feelings through their behaviour, as it may be too much for them to find words to express their feelings. I have 24 year’s experience of working with children & young people. I work creatively with all ages, which helps when people just can't find the words they need or may not want to say. There is more information of how I work with Parents and children & young people on my website.

For face to face appointments I am based at The Reiki Room Acle, NR13 3BE. I provide online or telephone appointments nationwide too. Weekly or fortnightly appointments available to suit you.

On my website you can book a free initial consultation where you have an opportunity to get to know me and we will discuss how we will work together.
