About me
Experiencing anxiety, relationship troubles, or depression? Have a decision to make? Lost your mojo, or just want more from life? Whatever you're currently experiencing, together we can address it to create the life you want.
I’m trained in Transactional Analysis (4 years training in this 70-year old school of psychology) and use this to explore with you your internal dialogues and relationships to reveal the patterns that limit you - your "Script".
There are all sorts of “labels” you may have heard of. To me, many of these describe common ways of behaving and coping that have a root cause, like a splinter. We can remove that splinter for greater peace, contentment and potency.
What I offer
- Open-ended therapy: regular ongoing sessions. We review and agree each phase periodically.
- Fixed-term therapy: weekly sessions for an agreed timescale (usually 3-6 months) to focus on a particular area/goal.
- Career & Leadership Development: Build the emotional intelligent and resilience it takes to lead successfully. It’s a tricky path at the top – I can help.
My method
Weekly sessions, plus access to my online toolkit, which we can use in our sessions where helpful.
With me you'll get a two-way conversation. Mostly I listen, very carefully, and also at times share theory & visual models (from the toolkit) to illuminate and help you understand yourself and your patterns.
I always intend to be warm, non-judgemental and supportive. From that perspective we'll work together to resolve the unhelpful aspects of your "Script".
What is your "Script"? This is our overarching but unconscious roadmap for how we are and how life shall be lived. Humans learn from experience and need to make sense of their experiences; so we unconsciously form a "Life Script" (without a storyline children get lost). Trouble is, that Script may well be limiting you as an adult. We'll tackle this.
We'll focus on:
- What goes on inside you: We all have different parts or states of mind. We're not just one thing. Getting to know the aspects of you uncovers where things might be stuck.
- What goes on outside in your relationships: repetitive behavioural patterns that attempt to fulfil our need to be seen, heard, loved, but instead they reinforce negative feelings and beliefs and mask the direct expression of thoughts and emotions.
Through these methods we come to understand what you've experienced and how you function as a result. This helps you accept yourself, or decide to change what you want to change.

You’re welcome to email me with any questions or to discuss your needs and wants. I look forward to hearing from you and to working together.
Training, qualifications & experience
- BSc Hons Psychology (1st class)
- Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapy (Level 7)
- Diploma in Counselling (Advanced Transactional Analysis, Level 6)
My original degree was a BSc in Psychology, before a twenty-year career in law, business and marketing. I then returned to my passion of psychology and working with people via 4 years of masters-level training:
1) 6 years of my own personal psychotherapy – I list this first as I believe the effectiveness of any therapist is strongly linked to the level of their own self-awareness. I've been through weekly psychoanalysis and Transactional Analysis before and throughout my 4 year training.
2) Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapy (Level 7) – Masters level training going deep into human experience and development. I'm accredited by the NCPS and working towards accreditation by the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
3) Diploma in Counselling (Advanced Transactional Analysis, Level 6) – a three-year formal training course giving a solid grounding in human development, internal experience and practical therapy skills.
4) BSc Hons Psychology (1st class) – the academic scientific study of the human mind and its functions, especially those affecting behaviour. This does not qualify anyone to practice with clients; I list it to show my background and long-term interest.
This is a robust and effective training that allows me to understand how people uniquely develop in and respond to the world and so help you to understand and change the things you want to.
