About me

I'm a humanistic psychotherapist working online with adults across the UK and Europe. I work with people navigating anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, life transitions and the kind of exhaustion that a holiday or sleep doesn't fix.

Many of the people I work with describe feeling stuck. Caught in patterns of thinking, feeling or behaving that they can't seem to 'will-power' their way of out. They know what they 'should' or 'could' be doing, the problem is doing it. They often arrive wondering if there is something fundamentally wrong with them. There isn't. But something has gotten in the way and talking, real therapeutic talking, can illuminate things and help with finding real footholds for moving forward.

My approach is warm, direct and genuinely collaborative. I don't work from scripts or follow a rigid programme. Instead I take time to understand you and your perspective. Your history, the roles and responsibilities in your life as well as your patterns, your aspirations and your fears. We work together to make sense of all this and find direction. Mostly people find that the symptoms that brought them to therapy start to ease when they begin to understand what's driving them.

I work online only which suits people who prefer or require the flexibility of sessions from home. I work with people based anywhere in the UK and across Europe, including those who live (or have lived) internationally or are navigating life across more than one culture.

If you're not sure if therapy is for you, or not sure if I'm the right fit, that's ok and a normal concern. I offer a free introductory call so we can both get a sense of whether working together feels right. I welcome the opportunity to talk to you about any questions you have about therapy and how it can help.

Training, qualifications & experience

I completed my education and training in the UK, holding two postgraduate degrees: an MSc in Person Centred Psychotherapy and an MSc in Social Psychology. I also hold a BSc in Applied Psychology and specialist certificates in bereavement (the loss of any kind), online counselling (as a unique and valuable form of therapy in it's own right) and single session therapy.

My additional training includes anxiety, depression, neurodiversity, neuroscience of attachment, disordered eating and trauma sensitive practice. This training has been taken over years of practice reflecting the range of what the people actually bring to therapy rather than a single specialism.

I've worked across a variety of settings: one-to-one psychotherapy, group work and horticultural therapy (using an understanding of nature and our environment to inform and support wellbeing). I've worked across sectors, both corporate and non-profit. I'm familiar with the pressures and contexts of professional life and how they shape and inform peoples lives outside of the therapy room.

My breadth of experience is unified by my MSc in Person-Centred psychotherapy. Practically it provides me with an approach that is agile and flexible. I work shaped by you, your needs and your circumstances. I'm not bound to a single way of working, instead I offer what is useful and leave aside what isn't.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
