About me

Most of the people I see have been holding it together for a long time. From the outside, they look fine, often more than fine. Inside, they are tired, on edge, or quietly stuck in patterns they can see clearly but can't seem to shift.

If that sounds familiar, my work might be a fit. I help adults and adolescents (11+) work with stress, anxiety, trauma, and the relationship patterns that don't seem to change even when life on the surface gets better.

About my work
A lot of clients arrive saying some version of "I shouldn't be struggling like this." They have careers, friends, and responsibilities they show up for. What they don't have is a clear sense of why rest feels unsafe, why the same kind of relationship keeps repeating, and why their thinking won't switch off at 2am.

That gap between how things look and how they feel usually points to something underneath. An attachment pattern that started early. A nervous system that learned to stay alert. Trauma that got tucked away because there wasn't space for it at the time. None of that is a flaw. It is a set of strategies that worked, and kept working, until they didn't.

My job is to help you understand those strategies properly, soften them where that helps, and let your system know it can ease off.

What I work with
•      Trauma and post-traumatic stress, including complex and developmental trauma.

•      Anxiety, chronic overwhelm, and the kind of background hum that won't switch off.

•      Burnout, perfectionism, and the exhaustion of always being the capable one.

•      Attachment patterns, anxious or avoidant or both, keep showing up in relationships.

•      Low self-worth, a harsh inner critic, the sense of never quite trusting yourself.

•      Difficulties that feel out of proportion to anything specific you can name.

How I work
My practice is trauma-informed and relational. The approaches I draw on most are EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Brainspotting, and Schema Therapy.

EMDR helps process experiences that still feel emotionally loaded, including ones you thought you had put behind you. It works with how memory is held in the body, not just with the story.

Brainspotting is a gentle version of EMDR that helps to heal experiences in life through eye positioning and focuses on the brain and the body.

IFS is a way of working with the different parts of you. The part that pushes hard. The part that withdraws. The inner critic. The protector. Once you understand what each one is trying to do, things get less stuck.

Schema Therapy is for the longer-running patterns. People pleasing, over--functioning, self doubt, and perfectionism. The patterns that insight alone doesn't seem to shift.

Which approach we lean on depends on what you bring. With clients who live mostly in their head, we slow things down and bring the body in. With clients who feel flooded, we build steadiness before going near anything difficult. The pace stays yours.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a trained CBT Therapist with a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy from the University of Reading. CBT is where my work started, and it still shapes how I think about thoughts, behaviour and the patterns people get stuck in. Over time, my practice has moved further into trauma and the body, which is where most of it sits now.

Alongside CBT, I have trained extensively in:

EMDR
EMDR 2.0
Attachment-informed EMDR
IFS informed EMDR
Child and Adolescent EMDR
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Schema Therapy
Brainspotting
Equine Psychotherapy
This range matters because clients don't arrive needing the same thing. Some come to process a specific event. For others, the difficulty started long before they had words for it, and we need slower, attachment-aware work to get anywhere useful.

Younger clients often need a different approach again, which is why I trained specifically in Child and Adolescent EMDR. And some people need parts work, the IFS approach, to understand the inner critic or the protector that has been running things for years.

Beyond formal training, I have over a decade of clinical experience. Within the NHS, I have worked in Talking Therapies, Veterans Services, and Complex Emotional Needs services. I am BABCP accredited and registered with EMDR UK.
