About me

Hi, my name is Peri

A humanistic practitioner who is passionate about humans! It's truly a privilege to hear the diverse stories that make us us. I've personally found healing to be the biggest adventure of my life so far and the best decision I ever made. This work is truly life changing and I would be a completely different person without it. It's now my mission to share this transformational work with others.

I have worked for 8 years with clients of all ages in a counselling and coaching setting working with issues such as -

Depression, Anxiety, Trauma, Low self-esteem, Fertility, Existential worries, Relationships, Sexual issues, Issues relating to cultural upbringing, LGBTQI+ identity and Bereavement

My Approach

I work from a person-centred base which means I believe every person has an innate desire to self actualise - move towards their own unique solution based on their own unique experiences. You are the expert of your story and my job is to support you to get a deeper sense of yourself and the world from different perspectives.

Life carries many challenges and we can often get stuck without always knowing why or how, as much of what causes our troubles can often be subconscious. We often carry a lot of unhelpful narratives, shame and expectations from life but therapy can be extremely powerful to help you work through whatever is coming up for you in a supportive environment and make the unconscious, conscious.

Working with psychosexual issues

Issues with/around sex can be very distressing as they carry some of the most trauma and shame. My personal experience has led me to feel very passionately about helping facilitate a safe, trauma informed environment to help you feel confident and empowered!

Some common things that may come up are -

  • Vaginismus/painful sex
  • Delayed or rapid ejaculation
  • Reduced desire
  • Mismatched desire in relationships
  • Culture and LGBTQI+ identity
  • Polyamory/non monogamy
  • Sexual Trauma

Working with young people

Young people face increasingly unique challenges related to school/success, peer relationships and mental health. I have 3 years experience working directly with young people in schools and some common issues I have worked with are -

  • Anxiety
  • Exam stress
  • Neurodiversity
  • Friendships/Relationships
  • Low self-esteem
  • Bereavement

If you are/have a young person that would benefit from one to one support, I'm honoured to provide space for this.

Whether you just want a listening ear to feel seen, heard and validated, or a more active, goal oriented approach - let's find your beautiful, unique solution together.

You can contact me directly on 07949685890 if you'd like to arrange a session or if you have any questions.

Look forward to hearing from you,

Peri

Training, qualifications & experience

I completed my degree in Humanistic Counselling Practice at the University of Nottingham and further training in Psychosexual Therapy with the Grove, accredited by COSRT at Level 5

I have 2 years experience working in schools with children and young people, and 6 years experience working as a therapist/coach both in private practice and with an agency specialising in Trauma.

I work with a person-centred focus but also draw upon coaching strategies and experiential healing techniques to fit whatever is most relevant to you and your needs.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
