About me

Are you feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck or not good enough? Are you struggling to work out what is bothering you? Or are you not sure where to start? Whatever your reasons I can help.

I am warm, calm and compassionate. Clients have told me I am easy to trust and feel comfortable to share things they have never told people before.

I am passionate about the work I do, and I can offer you a confidential place where you will be accepted as you are, to explore the issues you are facing, and find a way forward. Drawing from my experience, we can find out what works best for you. I believe everyone has the ability to change and reach their full potential. You are the expert in your own life and we can work together at your pace, to find a way forward.

How I work

I have experience in working with people with a whole range of issues such as anxiety, low mood, worry, depression, confidence and self-esteem issues, bullying, panic, grief, loss, (including loss through a health diagnosis) trauma, parenting issues, marital issues, isolation and self-sabotage.

My training and experience has taught me that relationships are significant. This includes challenges you may be facing in your relationships as a parent, child, partner, friend, at work or at home, but also the way you and I may work together.

I work one to one with adults aged 18 and over, offering short and long term therapy from my therapy room in Menston, a comfortable, calm setting where you will receive a warm welcome.

If you would like to book a free 20-minute introductory chat online on Zoom, or on the phone, or meet for a first session please call, text or email me. We can discuss any questions, fears or concerns you may have.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified, experienced psychotherapist/counsellor and a registered member of the UK Council for Psychotherapists (UKCP) and an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP, Accred).

I work using transactional analysis as a way of exploring how your experiences in childhood shaped the way you think, behave, and interact with other people as an adult, using various techniques, models, and tools.

I am fully committed to being the best I can be and am guided by the UKCP, EATA and BACP ethical framework which underpin all my work with my client’s wellbeing being at the centre. I also receive regular clinical supervision.

  • M.A. in Psychotherapy
  • Postgraduate diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy
  • Diploma in Transactional Analysis
  • Postgraduate diploma in Executive Coaching and Mentoring
  • Ongoing continued professional development

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
