I am highly qualified in counselling and psychological therapies for anxiety and depression. I am able to listen to your current difficulties and struggles in a safe and confidential environment with understanding and empathy.
I can help you with your counselling/psychological needs, if you are experiencing anxiety, worry, depression, feeling sad, low self esteem or confidence, have social anxiety, suffering with sleep problems/insomnia or addictions. (including alcohol, drugs etc). I specialise in neurodevelopment disorders, including ADHD and Austism.
I can help if you're having relationship difficulties and need couples counselling/couples therapy. Or having difficulties with relationships at home and need family therapy.
These symptoms are frequently experienced by people with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Pain disorder, relationship issues and stress.
I specialize in anxiety, depression, panic disorders, ADHD, sleep problems, insomnia, couples therapy, addiction and child/adolescent therapy. I work together with you to help understand and overcome difficult thoughts, feelings and behaviours .
In addition I have experience both privately and in the NHS with child/adolescent related issues, usually with anxiety, depression, low self esteem, eating disorders, self harm or sleep problems.
Since 2014, she has run her own specialised counselling psychotherapy and clinical hypnotherapy in Putney, South West London, SW15. Accredited member of the BACP and the BPS supporting adults, children, couples and families, using psychotherapy, including compassion-focused therapy (CFT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), all within a mindfulness-based philosophy.
For 14 years, she has been the family and carers support lead in the South London and Maudsley NHS Trust, for people with psychosis, bipolar disorder, and personality disorder. And has worked with people from the homeless community, with severe mental health and addiction issues, for the Southwark NHS trust. And worked in psychological rehabilitation for people with brain injury at the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disabilities and three years volunteering at the Samaritans.
Paula is the Psychological Director and Advisor to the Shoorah mental health and wellbeing app, supporting the development of evidence-based digital wellbeing resources designed to make high-quality psychological support more accessible.

I am a professional member of the British Association for counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and have been trained in 'gut directed therapy' ,an effective treatment to alleviate the painful and uncomfortable symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) using Clinical Hypnotherapy. Hypnotherapy and psychological therapy is recommended by the NHS and GP's if usual treatment (medication) has not been successful.
In my own private practice/clinic in Putney/ Fulham/ South West London I offer individual counselling and I adopt an integrated approach which will be personalized for each client. I work with both adults, children-adolescents and families.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
