About me

Paula Bendon,  MSc, PG Dip, PG Cert, MBPsS, MBACP

Psychotherapist, CBT Therapist & Clinical Hypnotherapist | Putney, Fulham, Wimbledon, all of South West London & Online

Are you feeling anxious, low, overwhelmed or stuck? Perhaps you're struggling with ADHD, trauma, sleep difficulties, relationship problems or simply finding it difficult to cope with what's happening in your life.

I offer a warm, confidential and non-judgemental space where we can understand what's going on and work together towards meaningful change.

I have over 14 years' experience across the NHS and private practice and work with adults, couples, children and young people. I specialise in anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, relationships and couples therapy, sleep and stress-related IBS.

My approach is practical and collaborative. I tailor therapy to you, drawing on evidence-based approaches including CBT, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), ACT, DBT, mindfulness and psychotherapy.

I am also a qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist and offer hypnotherapy for anxiety, sleep, addictive behaviours, weight management and IBS, including specialist gut-directed hypnotherapy.

Couples & Relationships
Relationships can become difficult for many reasons. You may be struggling with communication, recurring arguments, loss of intimacy or trust, or simply feel that you have become disconnected from one another.

I offer couples therapy to help you understand the patterns that may be keeping you stuck and find more constructive ways of communicating and relating to each other.

Children & Young People
I have  14 years experience supporting children, teenagers and young adults, both privately and through NHS and school settings.

I work with difficulties including anxiety, low mood, ADHD, low self-esteem, eating difficulties, self-harm and sleep problems, providing a supportive approach appropriate to the young person's age and individual needs.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
