About me
Welcome to my profile.
I understand how vulnerable it can feel to reach out to a stranger for help. Perhaps you’re not even sure if this is the right thing for you, or feel sceptical about the usefulness of talking therapy. If any of the above rings a bell, you’re in the right place.
As a person-centred counsellor I welcome people from all walks of life and am able to support you through a wide range of issues. You might be going through a difficult time, trying to manage a crisis or life-changing event. Maybe you’d like to explore some issues from your past, or perhaps you just want to explore your thoughts and feelings that, you don’t feel you can share with anyone else.
Whatever you bring, you will be met with empathy, understanding and unconditional acceptance. Here, you don’t have to be anyone, play any roles or do anything to be accepted. I offer a space where you can be free to feel and express all of your emotions, a safe and confidential space to truly be yourself. As your counsellor I won’t advise you or try to ‘fix’ you. Instead, we will work together to find a way forward, equipping you with relevant tools along the way so that by the time you leave therapy, you will be better able to cope with future life difficulties.
If after reading my profile you would like to give counselling a try or you have additional questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. I offer a free assessment session where we can discuss your needs and dive deeper into the way I work, and how I might be able to help.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a degree in Psychology and a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I am a registered member of the BACP. In addition to my training, I have also completed sexual trauma training with New Pathways, where I did my placement and where I continue to volunteer.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
