About me
Hello & welcome,
At a certain point your life may bring about very human challenges: transitions, concerns, doubts, uncertainties and dissatisfactions concerning your relationships, your understanding of yourself and your life as a whole. You may be struggling to make sense of your experiences leaving you feeling many things including overwhelmed, out of control within the unknown, stuck, alone, anxious, angry or confused whilst you do your best to navigate this. Being with a neutral party who is not a family member or a friend can help in gaining relief, insight, self-understanding, self-acceptance, help to make changes if you so wish and envision a way forward. I hold a particular interest in life's big questions and I love helping others to navigate through what life has to throw at them.
My approach is humanistic and primarily person-centred meaning that exploration is led by you, your needs are at the centre of our work and co-creating a down-to-earth relationship between us based on acceptance, trust and openness is key to facilitating a meaningful experience. Perhaps you find yourself experiencing not just an embodied anxiety but a philosophical anxiety also?: Am I making choices which align with my values? Am I satisfied with the relationships I choose? Do I have a sense of who I am as an individual and in relation to others and what do I need from my life? Counselling can help you to more clearly understand how you experience your unique place in the world: We can explore how past experiences and developed methods for coping have shaped present experiences, explore here and now experiences and consider how you might envision your future.
My role will not be to position myself as the "all knowing therapist" which I am not, but to work in partnership with you, to allow space to really hear you, support you to find your own unique meaning and facilitate exploration where appropriate, within a safe and comfortable environment based on trust, acceptance, kindness and without fear of judgment. Sessions are open-ended, so you choose how long you would like to commit and can be weekly or fortnightly. A satisfying experience of counselling requires an investment of your time and consistent attendance. Counselling is a unique investment, your time to place yourself first.
If it sounds that we might be a good fit and would like to arrange a free initial conversation then I look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
