About me

Hello & Welcome to Repertoire Counselling

All of us at some point in life feel overwhelmed and struggle to understand and carry the weight of our feelings and experiences. This can lead us to feel lost, alone, anxious, angry, confused, stuck and that we are fighting through life all by ourselves. My journey to becoming a therapist emerged out of my own painful experiences, for which I am grateful because I love helping my clients to explore and navigate their way through all that life has to throw at them. Talking to someone outside of your situation and who is not a family member or a friend can help in gaining relief, self-understanding, self-acceptance and help to build resilience and envision a way forward: this is what I would like to offer you.

I am a fully-qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor drawing-upon core Person-Centred values to underpin my practice, meaning that the direction of our sessions is determined by you the client, your needs are at the centre of our work, I believe that you are the sole authority of your experiences and the quality of the therapeutic relationship is key to inspiring meaningful change. My practice is primarily based on the humanistic models of helping including the Person-Centred, Existential and Gestalt approaches to help us both more accurately understand how you experience yourself and your unique place in the world. Depending on the specific needs of those I work with, this could involve looking at past experiences, present experiences and how you might envision your future. I believe that each person is unique, has a unique story and there is not one therapeutic approach that suits all.

My role will be to work in-partnership with you, to really hear you, support you and challenge you where appropriate, within a safe and comfortable environment based on trust, acceptance, kindness and without fear of judgment. Sessions are open-ended, so you get to choose how long you would like to commit. Above all else, I don't claim to hold the answers or be an expert of you, but it is my hope that our time together may help you to find answers and make connections within a caring and meaningful experience. As you embark on a unique investment in you, I would feel honoured to be part of your journey.

Making initial contact can be daunting but if you feel that we might be a good fit and would like to arrange a free initial conversation then I look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
