About me
Hello & welcome,
At a certain point life can become difficult and perhaps you're struggling to understand and carry the weight of your feelings and experiences. Perhaps this is leaving you feeling many things such as overwhelmed, lost, alone, anxious, angry, confused or stuck whilst you fight your way through. Becoming a therapist emerged out of my own experiences and I feel privileged to help others explore and navigate their way through all that life has to throw at them. Exploring your experiences with someone who is not a family member or a friend can help in gaining relief, self-understanding, self-acceptance and help to build resilience and envision a way forward: this is what I would like to offer you.
My approach is Humanistic and primarily Person-Centred meaning that exploration is led by you, your needs are at the centre of our work, you are the sole authority of your experiences and developing a therapeutic relationship based on acceptance, trust and openness is key to facilitating a meaningful experience. A Humanistic stance emphasises meeting you as your unique self, to move away from imposing a need for you to change into what others may deem acceptable and help you more accurately understand how you experience yourself and your unique place in the world. Depending on your specific needs, this could involve exploring how past experiences have shaped present approaches to relationships, exploring just present-day experiences or exploring how you might envision your future. Each person is unique, has a unique story and there is not one therapeutic approach that suits all.
My role will be to work in collaboration with you, to allow space to really hear you, support you and challenge you where appropriate, within a safe and comfortable environment based on trust, acceptance, kindness and without fear of judgment. Sessions are open-ended, so you get to choose how long you would like to commit. I don't claim to hold the answers or be an expert of you, but it is my hope that our time together may help you to find answers and find a way forward within a caring and meaningful experience. As you embark on a unique investment in you, I would feel honoured to be part of your journey.
If it sounds that we might be a good fit and would like to arrange a free initial conversation then I look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
