About me

Hi, I'm Paola. I know that reaching out for support isn't always easy, so I am here to create a welcoming space where you can feel comfortable being yourself. I am a therapist with an MSc in Integrative Counselling, and I'm here to support you at a pace that feels right. Together, we can explore whatever is on your mind, without pressure or judgement.

Maybe you want to understand your response to stress, explore patterns in your relationships, or begin to heal from pain. Maybe you are not sure exactly what you want to change... and that is okay too. In therapy, we can explore together what change and growth might look like for you.

I offer a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where you can bring your whole self. Coming from a Black Caribbean background, I bring both personal and professional understanding of how culture and identity shape our experiences. My practice is inclusive and welcoming to everyone, with a special sensitivity toward those who have experienced marginalisation or displacement. I also offer sessions in Spanish for those who feel more comfortable expressing themselves in that language.

Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or questions of identity and belonging, I will meet you where you are. Together, we will focus not on quick fixes, but on building meaningful, lasting change.

If you have made the decision to reach out for support, you have already begun the process of change. Change might feel confusing, hopeful, exciting, or even frightening. Whatever it feels like for you, you don’t have to face it alone.

I would be honoured to accompany you on your journey of growth and healing.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified therapist with an MSc in Integrative Counselling. This approach allows me to combine different therapeutic theories and techniques to best support your needs.

My training includes psychodynamic, person-centred, cognitive and behavioural approaches, as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).

I have been fortunate to work with organisations such as Age UK and Aberconwy Domestic Abuse Service, supporting people through a broad range of emotional challenges, from anxiety, depression, and bereavement to questions of identity, abuse, self-esteem, and much more.

The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
