About me
I'm a Person Centred Counsellor providing a space to explore feelings and experiences without any judgement and strive to offer an environment that encourages self-expression. I work both with adults (18yrs and above) and young people (14-17 yrs).
Finding the right therapeutic relationship is key to success. This should naturally develop over our first few sessions together in turn increasing confidence and trust in your therapeutic journey.
I am flexible in my approach to working in a way that lends to who you are and how you express yourself. This might be offering the opportunity to be creative, using arts and crafts, such as collage work or art therapy techniques as we all communicate differently.
If the thought of sitting in a room with someone does not feel right for you I also offer 'Walk and Talk Therapy', which adds the benefits of accessing nature which provides us with a whole world of alternative tools to relate to. (some terms and conditions apply).
When working with young people I will where appropriate work with parents to work collaboratively help your child. They will have the chance to express through play, art and creativity that lends to their own passions and interests.
Ive a special interest in grief and living loss. This could include divorce, long term illness/disability, gender reassignment, sexuality, unemployment, children leaving home, death of loved ones, relocating and any other situation that subjects us to significant change. It may well actually be that we grieve something we wish we had or living a life with too much compromise.
How might this be playing out in your life? You may be aware of a symptoms such as anxiety, depression, increased alcohol consumption, increased/decreased appetite, sleep issues or social withdrawal. These are all potential signs that we need to give oursleves the chance to explore what is going on from within.
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. If you would like to hear more about my way of working or have any further questions please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
