About me

What is Counselling?

There’s never any shame in asking for support in every chapter of your life.

The decision to reach out for support is never an easy one, it can be even harder to imagine what that support might look like.

Counselling is a talking therapy with a trained therapist, intending to support individuals process and come to peace with their emotional experiences.

Simple as that – talking. Not an overbearing expert telling you what to do, what to think, what to feel. Counselling is a space where each Client is accepted and valued as an individual.

It’s not a matter of ‘Others have it worse…’ – YOU MATTER. You are the therapist’s main priority during all of your time together.

The Therapy I Offer:

I am a Person Centred Therapist.

In simple English – I Support, Facilitate and Listen.

I offer a unique caring experience that recognises each person’s individuality, a space where you can be entirely yourself. My role is to listen, hear and value you as an individual; not to try and change you or treat you like a problem that needs to be fixed.

I’ll never tell you what to talk about or force you to focus on topics you’re uncomfortable with. As my Client, YOU set the tone of every Session, set the agenda and decide the direction of therapy. I’ll support you through it all, listen unconditionally, and facilitate a space where free will can flourish.

Only you understand what it is to live your life, you alone are the expert on what it means to be you.

At present, only Remote phone and WhatsApp appointments are being offered, all Clients shall be offered the possibility of in-person appointments once made available.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

About Me:

Having experienced struggles and challenges within my life, I feel I have some understanding and empathy with how it feels to be in emotional pain.

Coming from a small community, I understand the unique challenges this can bring. Finding a voice and trying to belong in a world that is increasingly changing, busy and often full of conflict.

I can relate to the feeling that you have to pick a side in situations you never asked for.

Following life experiences, I understand that ‘normal’ means something different for everyone.

Everyone has to play life on their own terms, and support means something different for everyone.

Because of that, respect is the bedrock of everything I do. Valuing everyone as unique.

I’ve proud links to the LGBTQIA+ community, but also to those who believe strongly in traditional values.

I don’t ask anyone to pick a side. Your background, your beliefs, your values… everyone is worthy of the same amount of respect.

Whatever you bring, whoever you are - I offer you a place and a space where you feel you can be safe, where you can be heard.
