About me
I worked at Hospice in the Weald for 8 years, supporting people at the end of life and with bereavement. I have also volunteered for Mid Kent Mind for two years, working with clients with a variety of mental health problems.
I specialise in, but am not limited to, supporting clients aged 50+; whether you're a woman approaching or going through menopause, if you're struggling to know your place in this ever-changing world, perhaps experiencing relationship or health difficulties, or worried about approaching retirement.
I am also a trained mindfulness therapist, using various techniques alongside talking therapy for relaxation and grounding; helpful for anxiety, sleep difficulties, anger management and other conditions such as disassociation or panic attacks.
If you would like to know more about me get in touch for a free consultation. I look forward to hearing from you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a person centred counsellor, CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I am a registered member of the BACP.
I have years of experience supporting people at the end of life and their family members through bereavement, with specialised training in grief and loss, a variety of mental health issues and other difficulties, including drug and alcohol rehabilitation.
My lived, personal experiences have led me to work with clients who are older, who are struggling to find their place in the world. Perhaps finding it hard to reconnect with a partner after the kids have flown the nest, or maybe worrying about older relatives or dealing with the loss of a loved one.
I also welcome clients who might be experiencing family struggles such as pregnancy or parenting problems, relationship difficulties with partners or other family members.
I offer mindfulness and meditation therapy alongside counselling to help people with anxiety, sleep deprivation, anger management and other difficulties, using sound mediation, guided meditation and other techniques for relation and grounding.
I offer face to face counselling in either Coxheath or Paddock Wood, as well as online or telephone support, either short term or long term, depending on clients' needs.
The relationship between counsellor and client is so important. I offer a comforting, warm presence in the counselling space, but also bring challenge to my client work, enabling people to work on their problems in a safe and supported way, giving them the confidence to move forward on their own.
I invite you to call me for an initial 20 minute call to ask any questions you may have, and to see if I am the right counsellor for you.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
Areas of counselling I deal with
Other areas of counselling I deal with
I'm also trained in guided meditation, sound mediation and creative therapies and can incorporate either or all of these into my counselling practice.
Experience shows that mindfulness and meditation can help in a wide variety of situations including; stress, anger management, sleep problems, anxiety, panic attacks, and depression.
Some clients struggle to find the 'right' words, so using creative therapies such as sand tray work, drawing, using emotion cards or toys and figurines, can help to open up the mind and start the conversation.
If you are particularly interested in mindfulness or creative therapies, please contact me for more information.

Additional information
The fee is £50 per 50 minute session, and is payable 24 hours in advance via Bank transfer.
The initial session will be a formal assessment giving you the opportunity to share your issues and challenges, and see if I am the right counsellor for you. There is no obligation to continue after this first session, and if necessary I can help you to find another counsellor if I am not the right fit. The therapeutic relationship between counsellor and client is an important one and it should feel right for you.
