About me

Hi!

I'm an accredited and fully qualified humanistic counsellor working with adults faced with a wide range of issues and challenges.

My background is in healthcare where I worked as a doctor in the NHS for 16 years. Please note, that whilst my professional experience includes work as a qualified doctor, I do not offer medical services or medical advice of any kind.

I understand that it can be difficult to navigate the ups and downs that life can throw at us. To know which way to turn or how to move forwards. Sometimes it can be helpful to talk to someone unrelated who can offer a safe, confidential, non-judgemental space in which to explore your feelings and thoughts.

Taking the first step in seeking help and making changes can feel overwhelming and even frightening. You can be reassured that with me, you will receive a warm, supportive and compassionate welcome. Please call me on 07547 946 545 or send me an email.

I aim to enable my clients to overcome difficulties, gain greater understanding of themselves and to grow as a person. I trust in your ability to know what is right for you and will work with you in a collaborative way to empower you to find your own solutions and way forward.

I offer private counselling to individual adults and couples, in an easily accessible location and at a time that is convenient to you.

My sessions take place online or in my personalised therapy room, in Wokingham, which is warm, modern, and comfortable. It's located in the beautiful grade 2 listed building of Markham house in central Wokingham and is easily accessible by road and public transport with nearby public parking available.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
